An anaesthetic is usually used, which is why he refused the coffee.

The post op pain is associated with two healing sites. The donor area, often upper thigh, and the recipient site. Depending on the type of tissue they harvest it may be very fine, taken with what looks like a cheese slice (dermatome). Then this has to be grafted (attached) onto the recipient site. This can be a complicated procedure, and some grafts dont take. Then you have all the issues of healing to deal with. Good analgesia can often deal with a lot of pain. But there is a maximum a patient can receive. I've seen skin grafts, from the harvesting through to the patient being discharged and the emphasis on the associated pain in the episode, was almost a negative, in what was a very well portrayed episode.

That's fascinating, thank you, but BIB I so wish I hadn't been eating cheese when I read this.

Been meaning to say for weeks now, it's heartwarming to see that refugee Daryan has settled into a new lovely home with an extended family and have even got a sponsorship deal on Channel 4!

Why is Emma still listed? She’s been gone over a year
It's obviously on someone's to do list and keep falling to the bottom, as well as Emma still being on it, characters like Dee Dee and Glenda aren't on there.

Wasn't Tyrone's mum played by Margi Clark?

Also, surely Claire isn't old enough??
