Probably in the minority but why is Daniel still there? Obviously there’s others like SUMMER, YASMEEN, Simon, Stephen, Leanne, Nick, Toyah, Ken’s harem, Sean, Debbie, Billy, the welsh guy. Again unpopular opinion, but I enjoy Daisy’s one liners but as a character, I think she’s abhorrent. Christ now I’ve started, I can’t stop….

I love Daisy!

I also really like Debbie but I'm not sure how they can keep her in now she's sold the Bistro. Apart from popping in to see Kevin she has no reason to be on the Street. Same with Ronnie (the one Bailey I like)

So the theatre they were using for the play can’t put the play on...so where do they hold it? The Bistro of course! That multi purpose venue for all plays, weddings, book launches, you name it.

And it conveniently had its damp rot problem, costing thousands of pounds, all fixed just in time to host the play. What a relief!

I’ve started to watch the old episodes - I’m currently in March 2000 where Gail has told Audrey that Sarah Lou (did they stop calling her that?) is preggers and she lost her tit. Also different David! P.S isn’t Martin Platt a pathetic winge bag? 😅

It’s mental because I was just 5 then and I actually remember certain bits!

It’s funny watching the cast (mostly the men) say things they really couldn’t get away with saying now. Les laughing at Hayley being born a man and that builder who fancied her calling her a pervert and weird, and Mike Baldwin being incredibly sexist.

It’s great times have moved on from those sheltered views but I’m really enjoying the episodes. They’re short, punchy, and get a lot fitted into 1 ep. No year long storylines - things seem to be resolved in a few eps and the longer storylines have mini issues that are also resolved quickly.

Where did it all go wrong? Im sorry to say but I can’t see how they can save it anymore. Especially with it now being an hour long.

Aw those were the days in Corrie for me , I will have been 9 or 10 then.

It will be same the same David though he's been playing him since childhood

I was watching classic corrie not long ago and Jack shepherd was in it with Rosie and Adam as kids playing in the street 🤷‍♀️

Yes after Jack joined the show and took over the role of David. He was 12 in real life but David was 9 at the time. Classic Corrie on ITV3 are currently on 2002

“At the age of twelve, he replaced Thomas Ormson in the role of David Platt making his first appearance in Episode 4811 on 26th April 2000.”

I thought the original post meant they were watching on ITV3

Also while on the subject of child stars the actor who played Adam as a child was on that BBC drama about the 999 call handler

It doesn’t say where they are watching it, it just says in their first paragraph that they are watching the old ones, they are currently in March 2000 and Audrey has found out that Sarah is pregnant. Probably watching on YouTube or has the old episodes stacked up from the ITV3 broadcasts

I was watching on YouTube! ☺️ I did have to google about David Platt too because I never knew he was played by anybody else and remembered him being around when Sarah had the baby so was confused!
He joins soon in Apr - maybe they recast him because of the storyline with Sarah 🤷‍♀️ best recast they’ve done tbf!

I do think most of them that have been playing the same character for ages just play themselves. Like Steve Mcdonalad is pretty much Simon Gregson and David and Jack aren’t too dissimilar either

I just saw a picture of Harriet Bibby (summer) and I just can’t comprehend her having another personality. Same with Eileen on the jungle she just seems to play her self

I find Corrie more of a slog with it being an hour long several times a week. It was much better when it was half an hour.

I actually really liked it during Covid when they reduced the number of episodes to make it last when they couldn’t film. Quality over quantity. A shame the producers don’t see it that way.
