Just finished watching, so disappointed as I loved the Normal People series. Nick's accent would go from Irish to British to Australian in the same scene. I didn't know Joe Alwyn was British, I thought he must have been American the accent was so bad 😂

The sex scenes were so dull, always just went from the kissing at the start straight to laying in bed afterwards.

agreed on all counts, actors without charisma playing unlikeable characters in a story that went nowhere 🤣

normal people was lightning in a bottle imo: the story equally doesn’t have much to it but they seriously lucked out with the actors and their chemistry. it made it a much more engaging watch than this, where i was hoping a sinkhole would appear under that villa and swallow them all.

OK I'm finished. I haven't read the book yet, I started it then decided to wait until after I watched the series.
I loved it. I found it irritating and pretentious at parts, as I did with Normal People. I won't watch it a dozen times like I did with Normal People.
I must have a lot in common with Sally Rooney, assuming the main female character is based on herself, because I could relate to Frances in almost every way.

I didn’t believe Bobbi and Frances were the endgame. I actually started off thinking Bobbi is quite toxic, by the end I thought Bobbi would be better off without Frances and the drama. I could have screamed (with joy) when she told Nick to come get her at the end. They have much better chemistry. I know so many reveiws say there was no chemistry but for me it was there. I think their connection was special albeit unhealthy. I need more.

my thought about that final scene was Frances had finally let go of her rigid expectations of Bobbi and Nick, and she was embracing a life where she could be with both of them. kind of like how Melissa had accepted Nick needed Frances in his life while still being married to her.

Interesting. I'm still not convinced about her and Bobbi, I think she uses her when she's not with Nick.

Very late to the party, but just finished watching this and I enjoyed it. I haven’t read the book yet, but will do as want to compare it with the show.

Didn’t find any of the characters likeable and all were pretty self serving and self involved, still had something about it, imo.

Think I’m going to rewatch Normal People now.

I feel sorry for poor Joe Alwyn. He has never said a word about his relationship with Taylor, there are no inklings of him doing anything bad and yet has her new album basically named after him , and its full of references to him !

I think a couple of tracks were about Joe, but in the main it’s about Matty Healy and one or two about Travis lol.
