Hi all, sorry for a minor derailment, but I don’t think that’s the case in Ireland. Unless it’s changed recently, while we don’t have the concept of common-law marriage, an unmarried cohabiting couple is treated the same way in separation as one in a marriage or civil partnership. If one partner was being supported by the other, the family courts can place a maintenance order on the breadwinner.

The only substantial differences are we cannot share tax credits and don’t have automatic rights in terms of hospital issues.

but I don’t think that would be why Dee doesn’t choose to leave. There’s a reason it’s said that the most dangerous time for a wife in an abusive relationship is just after the separation. Unless he finds another mark first ☹️

If Dee has €18 million to her name she should be running for the hills & not the courts!
 
so now dee is pregnant and assume an addict how is that going to play out

if she is an addict she wont be able to just stop but they will have private mid wife's etc wont that be a very big black mark regarding the safety of any child living with them

i guess everything gets covered up but would be interested as to what goes on regarding drug use while pregnant

She does seem to be out of it an awful lot of the time in fairness. Not taking away from her fella being a lowlife rapist scumbag in any way.
