Come Dine With Me

just found this thread! LOVE come dine, I know someone who went on it, said it was draining as it is not just filmed as a normal dinner, took ages, re-setting things up all the time etc, she won and after throwing the money in the air some of it went missing :ROFLMAO: overall it is really expensive if you want to do a good night, all the wine etc .
What does everyone think of the professionals one? personally I don't like it, I prefer the drama of the normal people

Watched part of the West Yorkshire one on catch up and didn't think much too it, infact gave up after about 15 minutes. Like you I thought it lacked the fun and drama of the normal one, they were far too serious and there was too much at stake if they didn't win.

exactly, no one is going to get drunk and embarass themselves if it is basically advertising their business

I feel the same about couples come dine, just don't enjoy it, can't put my finger on why 🤷‍♀️.

I quite enjoyed the Australian one though.

I've probably watched every episode of come dine with me twice!!
My favourite series was the Salisbury one, Chris was so funny, though that song on his night to Natasha was
I think the professional series should be more like four in a bed, pay what you think the meal is worth!
Haven't liked the episodes where due to restrictions they cook in one place and are about 6ft away from each other!

Thr older ones are the best !... I may have to set some time aside ! Ones that come to mind are Perry and his chicken divan (tinned soup) and the one where the guy was a staunch royalist and got shirty about passing the port.

Has anyone mentally planned their menu?

Mine would be
Starter: Bruschetta, home made pesto.
Main: Ox tail (controversial but do it with recipe that uses a whole bottle of red and its 🤤).
Dessert: Lemon posset

(Going for gout 🏅).

I've always wondered what I'd cook, defo lemon posset for dessert!

I agree that The Professional series is quite dull, and I wasn't a fan of the newer series where they were all in one big mansion/hotel and sat metres apart at a long table. I know they did it because of Covid restrictions but I think they should've waited until they were allowed to return to normal filming.

It used to be really good back in the day.
One episode I remember that really made me laugh featured an Asian lady who brought a mini bottle of chilli sauce with her to the other host's houses, incase their food was bland. One of them caught her putting it on her food and he had a go at her. Then the next evening, she brought a bottle of wine wrapped in tissue paper as a gift for the host and Dave Lamb said "what's that, a giant bottle of chilli sauce?!" :ROFLMAO:

what about the woman who served sausages for every course ?

I have told everyone I know about the sausage episode and no fucker saw it so no one believes me...thank you so much for confirming it wasn't a fever dream! Didn't she make sausage trifle for dessert?! 😂😂😂

My other favourites are the guy licking the whisk (which is everywhere now as a meme) and the Celebrity episode with Brian Belo off Big Brother, which was every bit as bad as you'd imagine 😂
