Also when they start induction they started mine at 5pm I had the tablet they insert then they let me sleep till anything happened , they sent my partner home because nothing was happening and they said they would ring him if I ended up with any changes , I didn’t so the next day they gave me a second one x

I got induced on the Sunday evening ( a tablet inserted inside me) baby came on the Wednesday 😒.. its not a quick process ! All worth it though xx
Unless Abbie’s body responds unusually well to the drip/gel/ pessary, there won’t be much to write home about for days. Unfortunately for them. Abbie is going to be traumatised by the whole thing, Cole will be flapping, I do feel for Abbie right now

That’s the other things she said, hopefully they’ll break her waters to start with!?!?
WHY does she think they would do that then!?
To break waters whilst nit being in active labour can be very dangerous. If the baby doesn’t have enough amniotic fluid that’s bad news.
There’s no guarantee he’ll come out anytime soon even with the gel or the drip or the sweeps of the membranes gone.
I’m worried for them

I had an induction at 38 weeks in June 2020 and if they are able to, they will burst your waters if they are ready to be burst and you are dilated enough. You get pessaries or a balloon thing inserted if they aren’t ready which can take DAYS to work and sometimes they still don’t work so they have to use other things. They will be very lucky if it’s over and done with within a day.

I’m going to go against grain, I think it might be quite fast I’ve had two inductions at roughly 40 weeks because of pregnancy induced hypertension. Both were extremely quick. And it’s known (but not understood why) that having high blood pressure can make labours quick . So if she is telling the truth about her bp she might go quickly?

However saying that, maybe induction at 37 weeks night go against her.

I dunno. Hope it goes smoothly and safely for her.

Yeah, that’s the foley BC, which they use in some inductions.
I can’t help but wonder why they’d use all these methods to bring baby out before his time though? They’ve told us all about everything else, so why not tell us why she’s being induced? The real reason.
Hopefully he will come out soon, but in my experience, if a baby is not ready, the baby will have to be forced out, or surgically removed. Unless Abbie’s health presents a reason to do this, why would they?
Having said all that, she’s sat in hospital being induced as we speak, so there must be a valid reason to be doing it
I’d avoid induction at all costs if I was to have another baby, sometimes it can’t be avoided obviously
My waters were broken with my daughter.
I’d been induced as she was 10 days late, things were progressing, I stood up to move about and the pressure was intense, they had a look and said they needed to break the membrane.
I’d been in induced labour for a few hours by that point though
It’s not very nice

I really hope it goes well, that she experiences the least pain, and that baby his happy and healthy and shouts at the top of his lungs once he’s out. I really do
My induction was a few hours, (2nd baby), but I was 10 days overdue
Abbie is 37 only. It does make a big difference

Yeah they would definitely need to have a valid reason to be put for an induction before the due date. Unless they have made something up to try and push it forward. If she genuinely does have pre eclampsia then fair enough but something just seems off about it all. Why were they allowed home?! Pre eclampsia is serious and they would have wanted the baby out asap I would have thought as there’s nothing to cure it apart from delivering the baby.

my son was measuring huge so I had a growth scan at 38 weeks and the sonographer referred me for it. Wasn’t in my plans at all! It was painstaking and a lot of waiting around in a hot hospital in the middle of summer in the middle of a pandemic so I was alone until in actual labour. I was an emotional wreck. Wouldn’t want that again

I’m almost 100% sure she doesn’t have or ever had pre eclampsia. To send her home with pre eclampsia would be negligent

As my grandma told me when I was hugely pregnant, “it’s a lonely bed”
Thanks grandma!
She meant that you’re the only one who can do it, you’re doing it alone regardless of how many people are around you, it’s only happening to you.
I agree with her. It’s an overwhelming, frightening and lonely experience when you think about it.
Luckily, most women will zone out and go primal and forget the trauma.
We must do, because some of us go on to have more children after our first!!!
