Cleanandgleamit #11 Georgia's a schmuck, she's gone and lost a duck

Not defending her or the trust as the situation is horrendous but it genuinely isn’t within their remit. Hubby's best man works at a different wildlife trust and it’s in their regulations that they don’t cover welfare issues and have to refer them to RSPCA etc. it’s a funding/insurance thing. He finds it very frustrating as his hands are tied when wanting to intervene with things in his local area.

Those ducks need a fresh paddling pool of water (deep water) everyday! Even twice a day, it’s so so important for them. They are water birds. Not to mention the adult is probably very uncomfortable as I noticed she’s gone through her full moult and has no flight feathers (happens this time of year) so she can’t actually fly and would usually spend this time in the safety of water! She’s cruel and shouldn’t get away with it. However I’ve found it really hard to get in touch with RSPCA about it, they keep sending me round in circles.

Perhaps you were ‘the person that walked past and complained about the dirty water’. We know how she likes to fabricate these people that message her/say stuff on here that she doesn’t like and claim it’s happened in real life. I’d love to be on the islands to release them/change their water with her hose.

I think the beach belongs to the council, so it’d be worthwhile contacting them to see.
Either way, what happened to this duck hut they were getting built?

Yes, I understand they're a bit limited in what they can do, it's so frustrating though, you feel helpless. I'll try the RSPCA tomorrow, and the Police, and stress that time is an issue as it looks as if she's leaving on Thursday, returning Monday, and hoping people throw some food into them. Honestly it makes my blood boil!

I've emailed and said I feel the complaints are being ignored by the Island WT

It's disgusting to see her care less and less about the ducks and now clearly bored shes releasing them next week yet said inly last week that they needed to stay a "few more weeks". She is clearly not bothered about their welfare or else she would not bang on about how time consuming it is. She chose to "rescue" them but now bored so suddenly happy to release them. It's animal cruelty what she's doing keeping them in that squalor

You can watch on an anonymous IG viewer like isanony.com if you want. Shes being cruel. I keep thinking about what milestones the mummy duck and ducklings have missed out on. We don’t know how they raise their brood and the experiences they go through to become adults and a parent. She’s just abused them and delayed the inevitable. Mummy duck is probably traumatised now.
 
Yes Georgia, put a notice on the gate saying "feel free to take over what I started then realised i can longer be arsed with, make sure you keep them in a better condition than I do, fill the paddling pool to the brim with my hose, and if you really care, release them back into their natural habitat and pray they survive and mummy duck can get back to her usual self"

So she’s leaving to more after all.
To make sure the ducks don’t go hungry, she’s found a trough which she’s filled to the top which she hopes they’ll “graze on throughout the day”
Actually I think the ducks will probably just make pigs of themselves on it and just eat it all until it’s gone. 🤷🏼‍♀️
 
She must’ve been catching up here again - didn’t someone comment on this the other day? I wouldn’t mind so much if she gave us credit for everything, but she cherry picks the good bits taking all the credit for herself and then calls us trolls (which we’re not, she needs to learn the definition) when it’s something she doesn’t like… She can’t have it all ways if she’s going to read here.

No it wasnt me. I sent it after she said about that person walking past. I suspect she gets a lot of messages from people but rudely ignores and blocks.

This women is infuriating me now, saying she may release ducks but she did that last year and they got took. Well that was because they was tiny. These ducks are now big just go put them back. They have no quality of life where they are. Not learning life skills they need.And leaving a note for someone to water them what if no one dose and they go till Monday with nothing, and they will eat all that food right off not just graze at it to last them, is Adam not going with her why can’t he do it. Probably told her you take them you deal with them. And going on they just keep going in the water and standing in it, what dose she expect a duck to do ffs
