Omg I’d forgotten about that episode until now! I remember watching with my mum but I was too young and didn’t know what a condom was, i remember asking my mum and I think she panicked and told me it was a type of sweet to eat 😭😂 Cue little me being totally confused for the whole episode as to why he was so keen to get a “sweet” 🤣🤣

This is Shane IRL. He lived locally (this was about 10 years ago, don't know if he still does) and loved to be center of attention at all times, came into my shop and spoke so loud to make sure everyone was looking at him!
My friend hated him 🤣 She worked at a cafe and he used to click his fingers at staff, speak on his phone loudly and would leave dirty nappies on the table.

I have to try and separate Alfie from Shane for my sanity 😅

Are they separate entities though? Both royal twats.

To counteract all my negativity though, Shane does look really young and trim in Alfie’s first incarnation 😅

I know they’re no longer in the classic episodes but look who had a reunion (just missing Gianni) the actresses who played the sisters look fab

Hadn’t he started seeing Kym Marsh by this point? I can imagine it was her telling him he could be a big star which prompted him to leave which is ironic as she ended up in a soap herself. He also made the comment about “if you’re not a Slater, see you later” as he felt they were getting too much screen time

Yes they married in August 2002 (there are a few cringe photos online of cast members attending, as it was sold to ok magazine!), I'm guessing that was around the time he handed in his notice, heard he left before his contract ended, so was fined.
Think Kym just wanted a babysitter tbh. Such a mismatched pairing!
 
Ahhh I feel quite sorry for Ian with Steven wanting to go to his father, he is his dad.
Remember it first time round and sobbed at it as I’d not long had my first baby and was full of the baby blues 😂
