Just been reading an article by Amanda Barrie ( Alma) where she says -
Although she was married to a man, rumours of Amanda's bisexuality continued to swirl, with Amanda telling the Conversation Street podcast: 'Every week I would come up to the office. 'They'd go, "You're coming out." "Am I?" "Yeah, they've got this thing on you."
'I spent a fortune on solicitors because believe me if that had happened to me at that time they would not have kept me in Coronation Street and I will stand by that. Not because of them [the producers] but because of people, who shall be nameless, who would've said, "I'm not working with her."

I would really like to know who these people were.

In terms of the current timelime. Just over a year left of Alma in Corrie. So she'll be gone for good in a few months time.

Ironically her last appearance was pretty much (to the day) 20 years after her first appearance.

First: 22nd June 1981
Last: 20th June 2001

It’s weird seeing Jill Halfpenny playing Rebecca and then hearing her voice on the Argos sponsor ad-bumpers before and after each break during Classic Corrie
Dean Andrews is another one. He is Will in Emmerdale but seems to be the "go to" voice over for everything Yorkshire.
He does Barnsley A and E series, Our Great Yorkshire Life and owt else Yorshire. Lots of ads. Good luck to him as he started out as a pub singer in Rotherham in Yorkshire and I do like him as an actor, he was brilliant in Last Tango in Halifax.

Michelle Fowler's boyfriend from EE, in Classic Corrie.

I vividly remember the Blanche going along to an AA meeting with Peter Barlow because it was hilarious but nothing at all like an AA meeting. I’ve just seen Leanne telling Natalie that her Counsellor “put her on a 12 Step Programme”…people have to do that off their own back and it’s most commonly come about from going to AA or Narcotics Anonymous etc. I’m not saying that there aren’t Counsellors who advocate it but they can’t put someone on it or set them goals they have to achieve before they move on.

Talking about mind altering substances, the guy who plays Dougie is a very convincing drunk 😂.
