There’s actually different subtypes of BPD, I don’t believe everyone I see on tik tok with self diagnosis being the newest thing but I’ve felt the same with autism. I see all these people talking about it, I’ve been diagnosed for years and they spout so much misinformation it’s insane!

Thing is, with the right treatment and therapy, you can minimise the effects of BPD to the point it’s removed as a diagnosis!
It's been something Iv been struggling with since I was 14 and I'm 30 this year. Only during lockdown did I get access to some proper help. I'm medicated anyways, but I just do not see myself or my behaviours in any of these people i see on tiktok. I also have PTSD so watching her throw these terms around make me angry.

I have noticed though that her pain worsens when her FP(favourite person) is MIA and almost starts hinting at ways to get hospital admissions. I haven’t commented in a few days properly but seen she had mentioned asking about getting sectioned for BPD and I’ve been reluctant to give my opinion because I don’t want to vilanise people with these issues because it certainly isn’t how people act with these issues and mental health is never an excuse but an explaination and you’re still accountable for you’re actions.

she definitely displays traits of BPD and would 100% meet the diagnostic criteria, however, you wouldn’t be sectioned for BPD alone, it’s a case bu case basis but admission for patients with BPD is avoided and only crisis admissions are used when needed, crisis being threat to life. There also isn’t any medication licensed for BPD, I know quitiapine is sometimes used for most severe cases but therapy, specifically DBT is the main treatment for BPD and I think there comes a point where you have to engage, if you’re offered treatments and you refuse, at what point are you accountable?

I think if you actively know that isn’t how you’d act with treatment, and you choose not to engage, you are responsible for your actions, Chelsea has been offered countless options but chooses to stay this way. A lot of her behaviours are just because she is genuinely a nasty person but I can say confidently her relationships and the way she acts within these relationships is indicative of BPD.

I have BPD and well it can get a bad reputation. Trust me we aren’t all acting out and behaving badly. I’ve said before I’ve been sectioned for mine and had crisis admissions but yes there was a threat to life.

Saying that, I’m getting DBT just now for the past year after trying to get it for many years and it has really changed me as a person. The thing is Chelsea wouldn’t engage in therapy even if she did have a diagnosis.

I know, the reputation and stigma against BPD infuriates me, why I was so hesitant to suggest she shows signs of it with relationships because I don’t want to add further to the stigma at all!

I don’t have BPD but have experienced significant trauma, and therapy and DBT has been so much more helpful than meds ever were!

I don’t think chelsea would engage with treatment, she expects to get the depo, jag in the arse, I’ve been in hospital and the only people I know on depos are people who could never be taken off a section and stay in the community without medication, chelsea has no chance of getting these things. She is hoping for a long admission and expects the nurses to do everything for her. I genuinely wouldn’t wish being sectioned on my worst enemy but part of me really wants chelsea to be put on a ward because I can guarantee after a night or two, she’d be begging to get sent home after she realises it isn’t a “hotel with locked doors” as she called it.

I'm not gonna lie people talking about BPD and all these people on tiktok having it when Iv basically been seeing a psych for months who is pretty convinced I have it. It's terrifying because I don't see myself in any of these people.

I think a lot of those clowns are just cunts, their self diagnosis aside. They haven’t learned manners or basic social skills. They lack insight and can’t seem to take personal responsibility for any behaviour or actions.

Obviously I don’t know you, but from what I read (cos I seem to frequent the threads you’re on too - not a stalker, honest 😩), you have real self awareness and gumption to see your assessment and treatment through because you want to actually thrive.

My cousin has BPD and she’s the most intense person I know, but in all the best ways (funny, compassionate, helpful) - she just couldn’t see that in herself. She’s reading a book just now ‘Emotional Sensitivity and Intensity by Imi Lo’ and says it’s helping her reframe things. Don’t compare yourself to the TikTok mentalists, they’re a whole different breed.

You definitely follow me about 👀, thank you ❤

Shes live again, I don't know if I can watch 😂😂

Felt good but sore.
