I went to Southampton - my mum had a spare ticket from a friend, so I went to see her in the wild. Thoughts - her voice really is incredible, she’s obviously in her comfort zone playing characters rather than just being Carrie, she was a bit awkward at times but her singing was really good. Dress was an interesting choice, didn’t see Joel although he was there? And she didn’t mention him once which seemed like a really obvious omission. Stage door looked INSANE. The mac book is what she’s using to ‘check’ which song is on next, although the band on stage clearly knew ahead of time as no music changed. I didn’t buy her stories really - she wasn’t reading anything I don’t think, and rather just picking up random books from around the stage. As I say - her voice is really very good, I’ve never heard her live and I was impressed with that.

I went to Southampton, and here are a few things:

1. The queue for merch was insane. It took 40 mins. There was one person working merch. Apparently staff at the theatre had offered to help, but the production said no.

2. The end of the show is 'the next chapter' and she talks about trying new things and going out of her comfort zone. It reminded me of a comment on read on here a long while back, where someone said she was looking to justify her dried up roles.

3. She says she needs to travel the world rather than go to Disney every year.

I went to see Bonnie and Clyde on Saturday. Jodie Steele, former co star of Carrie’s, was in it. She makes performing seem absolutely effortless. She just stood there, opened her mouth and out came this power house of a voice. Her acting seemingly just comes naturally.

Why is it, and this is a genuine question, all of Carrie’s former colleagues have gone from strength to strength and Carrie is just left standing there? Aside from the obvious entitlement, and self absorption.

For example:
- Sophie Issacs and Jodie have both ended up as queens in SiX
- Jamie is in Moulin Rouge
- Jon Robyns, who was in Chitty with Carrie at some point, has gone from King George to Les Mis to Phantom
- Lauren was/perhaps still is Miss Honey

And what, dear Carrie, are you accomplishing?

I agree except Jon robyns who isn't such a good example as he has had a long and successful theatre career and was known well before he worked with Carrie.

Of her contemporaries, and those younger, though they definitely have jumped ahead of her career wise

I'm not surprised the concerts described as they are. They are feeding her ego and filling a room with her relatively small, but fiercely loyal, echo chamber obsessives. This kind of thing will look crazy on social media and give the impression she is massively popular and a big star. But her career away from this same pool of fans doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Those pics she's put on insta of stage door, I think at Southampton. Insane! Haven't those people got homes to go to? And the comments are jam full of "you are such a beautiful soul" and other obsessive drivel.

And yes I know it's all about soaking up self-congratulation and self-glory for her. But how is she getting so many people fully registered in the Cult of Carrie when she puts so little effort in herself? It's a mystery to me!

they’ve bothered to train, practice and learn new skills…ie whatever the musical theatre version of PDP is 😂 she’s NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS and wouldn’t want that 🙄

And Alex James-Hatton from the OG cast of Heathers has just finished a stint as Oscar Delancey in Newsies!!

Olivia moore went on to waitress and then on to be sandy in Grease

Jenny O leary went on to be killer queen in the wwry tour

Like you said Jodie went on to do Six and Bonnie and Clyde whilst also running a very successful drama academy. And having met jodie via mutual friends she is honestly the kindest, most sweetest soul ever.

Carrie is just stale at this point. She needs to just face facts and realise shes not great anymore

She’s famous and she’s getting attention, plus fuel for her need for drama. That’s all she needs. She’s done what she could in the West End so she can always claim she’s a WE sensation, but from here on it will be the bare minimum. The tour is something she actually has to work for, and god knows she tried her best not to. But after that’s it’s little-seen plays, one-off concerts and panto.

edit: I have yet to see a flattering photo of her on this tour (other than the one fan pic where she looked genuinely nice). Why does she look so weird in photos these days?
