Sorry to break it to you Carrie, I actually am not a meanie hater. You were in fact never even on my radar beyond being Tom’s sister and in a few shows here and there, I actually had no opinion of you whatsoever.

Your god awful engagement photos are what lead me here, to then find out you’d been dating less than 6 months, and wanting to see if you’d go through with the wedding kept me here.

What I’m trying to say is, it doesn’t matter to me who you are, you could be anyone, and I’d still think this is a tit show and I’d still think your husband is gross and exhibiting red flag behaviour, and I’d still never believe you are happy with how this is all going.

I’d take my normal, balanced, healthy, loving relationship and going into my marriage with a rock solid foundation over your “not like anyone else”, loving out loud bullshit that you feel the need to ram down people’s throats whilst still harping on about privacy, any and every day of the week for the rest of my life.

Her expression makes it look like she thinks it should be obvious that she’s marrying Joel, and not that it was extremely bleeping surprising that she was marrying someone she had been with for a length of time that could still be measured in weeks. In fact, you can still measure their relationship in weeks.

Honestly I suspect Tom is likely a bit hurt by it. For such a showy family so present on social media and experienced in curating a feed, him simply reposting it to his story with zero comment and not liking or commenting on the post is slightly telling. The same goes for Debbie posting the link to the Hello article with no comment.

I know for certain that if I eloped, my older sister would be heartbroken.

If your family gets upset that you decided to elope, they are being selfish.
This is your day, not theirs. My mom (that has also been my best friend growing up kind of like Gilmore girls and is she most important person in my life) said it's fine if she's not invited to my wedding if I wanna elope as long as I'm happy. She told me this after finding out I'm engaged.

So there has to be something more to it, most likely the fact that it was so soon and she lied about saving the date.
Of course you are being a lying fucker if you pretend you're preparing a real wedding and saving the date and then elope. Then they have all the right to get angry.
