Have read over here before but this thread last night honestly kept me going through a crappy long night - thank you all ❤️ I haven’t read much since she met this new guy so felt nervous to comment, but I was having these exact thoughts. Spells out a very controlling type of behaviour and as much as I am not at all a fan of her I really hope she can see the red flags before she’s in too deep. I recognise them myself now and don’t have any male influence in my little family life any more, but nights needing tattle to occupy my mind have stemmed from this exact type of love-bomb vs control relationship.

I don't call making a passive aggressive phonecall to Icelandic Air from your hotel room and then marching down to the airport to abuse the customer assistant "girl" a "triumph".

But maybe that's me. Maybe I've had multiple jobs where I've been serving the public and I've been abused over tit that isn't my fault. Maybe I'd therefore never do it to another human being. Maybe I'd never do it anyway because I was raised right.

The whole culture of "customer is always right" and abusing any type of worker is just wrong and needs to end

I am admittedly still catching up on all the drama of this Iceland debacle so apologies if someone has already pointed it out, but budget airlines will cancel flights if they're not booked enough and bump people to the next one. It's happened to me a whole bunch. Are we sure it's a bad weather situation and Joel didn't just miss an email 6 weeks ago that the flight was being rescheduled?

If CS are saying it was the next day and no boards at the airports are showing it as cancelled then it was clearly rescheduled more than 24 hours ago. I think they just didn't pay any attention to Comms from the airline weeks ago and are now throwing hissy fits. It's pathetic.

I've ahd flights rerouted to completely different countries, I've had trains cancelled in foreign cities, I've had delays causing me to miss connections of the only flight of the day, hotels and b&bs duck up my booking leaving me in major cities with no room. All as a solo traveller. You only get on social media if you've gone through every other option of getting yourself sorted and there's been no help.

It just really hammers home how thick Carrie actually is and how Joel is no different. One Braincell between them. If that.

But you're quite happy to have the sycophantic suck ups tell you how wonderful you are in your toxic echo chamber?! You put stuff online for a reaction, self promotion, bragging and to make money from your following. You just don't like it when people reactive negatively to the vibe you give off or the actions you take, or heaven forbide disagree with you.

You don't have to action or listen to any of it, but anyone in the public eye will be discussed and debated. Especially when you ram it down people's throats or expect them to give you their hard earned money. You are not above that.

Also, you don't HAVE to know what people think of you, you actively search it out by coming on here. On here is no different to what people say verbally to friends when discussing you etc.

Her behaviour towards her customers during Cinderella, and her behaviour towards customer service at an airline just shows how privileged and sheltered her life has been.
 
she just seems to be very much trying to force on us that her and joel are “destined”. they met a handful of times on sporadic occasions yet “gravitated towards each other”… but she ignored his DMs for 8 years. even if she saw him as just a friend you can still reply to someone’s DMs. i’d have a lot more respect for her if she said “we met a few times over the years and got on well on those occasions but only really got to know each other when we started talking properly last year”. i know she says she’s had therapy but it must be a tit therapist because i know mine would tell me if i was creating fictitious scenarios to present a “perfect” world. it just screams deeply insecure and unhappy. find a decent therapist, carrie, and figure out what you REALLY want. and i’m not just talking about marriage & babies

There was a lot of other flights cancelled around the same time from different airlines coming into Reykjavik.
