I mean it makes sense to any person to dress nicely for an event even if it's not for them. Joel is just disgusting: he's unattractive, creepy and dresses extremely sloppy.
I mean ffs you can buy a shirt of any brand you like from a charity shop for a fiver, if money's an issue. And any pair of black jeans (which any man owns) go nice with a shirt without needing formal trousers.

Gonna sound like a witch but I'd be personally offended and ask my bf to change if I invited him to an event and he dressed like that.
