Yep. I’d even say there’s no “arguably” about it. Sam Barks is definitely the bigger star here. She held her own wonderfully against all A-list Hollywood actors in the movie and even sang at the oscars. Carrie is practically unknown outside the UK.
Also mackintosh dug in his heels and said he wouldn't hand over the rights to the movie if Sam wasn't allowed to play eponine, the director wanted Taylor swift. Can't imagine that happening for Carrie

Yeah she is practically unknown outside the UK, I asked a family friend who is training for Broadway and is very big on musicals and has sung with Sierra bogges (I think that's how you spell her name 😅) the original little mermaid on Broadway, I told him that I saw her in heathers and he was like 'who?!'

I dont think Carrie has anything to be jealous of, looks wise but we know she is jealous of other women and Oliver working with such an accomplished singer actor must be eating her alive.

Carrie has always come across like she thinks she’s better/more superior than Oliver. He’s now got arguably a bigger gig than she’s ever had and I expect she feels threatened by it. Maybe a part of her has always believed the previous comments that he’s with her for her fame/house/money etc and so now she feels like he might not need her anymore.

I’m really pleased for Oliver; he has seemingly worked hard to get this role and it’s paid off.

I wonder if the circumstances of how she and Oli met plays on her mind. They were both in long term relationships at the time and their attraction to each other grew through working together. We don’t know if there was cheating involved, it’s a bit of a grey area but very possible. Perhaps she’s concerned about the possibility it could happen again, but this time she’d be the familiar girlfriend, not the exciting new affair.

She's liked these two tweets.

Essentially the two characters have a loving relationship but they then break up. The bottom two pictures are at the end of the movie and 5 years later when they see each other again but are no longer together.

it’s just a sad film ending people are being hyperbolic about, I wouldn’t read into her liking it!

I watched her counselling video this morning as i didn't watch it last night and even though she obviously has a lot to learn about herself, I enjoyed the video. As someone who has been through both counselling and therapy, I think she would greatly benefit from therapy. A lot of people don’t realise the differences between counselling and therapy.

ha that post actually proves why you shouldn't trust 'influencers', you see a distorted picture based on what they are choosing to show.

Tbh I dont really care what she is or isnt going through, I unfollowed a while ago for all the reasons mentioned on here. Who knows what is true and what isnt but one thing I've learnt in my 30+ years is people who always seem to have drama and issues around them have one thing in common, themselves.

Hey everyone! Newbie here. I'm posting as I have struggled to find anyone else outside of the internet and places like this who have dealt with or been on the receiving end of Carrie's beat downs when it comes to her fans being critical of her. I've been a long time fan of hers for years now and always supported her work by either purchasing merchandise, books or tickets. I've always loved her YouTube videos in particular and being able to see the behind the scenes of shows always fascinated me because of my love of musicals and theatre in general! Recently I noticed a big decline in her social media engagements - she was always SO negative and so quick to argue with fans who were even remotely critical of her and this was really starting to grate on me. I felt myself bracing every time she posted something in case it was going to be negative and abusive. The other day she was posting about abolishing the police in America (which is something I do not agree with but I won't get political on this thread). I messaged her privately to say I was disappointed to see her supporting this and that whilst I love her work I would be un-following her for a while. I also wished her luck for her future shows and that hopefully theatre would be back up and running soon for everyone to enjoy. What I got in response was the rudest most patronising message I think I've ever received from a creator of her size and she promptly blocked both my accounts so that I didn't have a chance to even defend myself or open up a conversation to have a debate on the matter. I am so disappointed by her attitude and I truly hope that she is able to see the error in her ways and engage in a more positive way with her fans. I now feel I cant watch her videos anymore without this hanging over my head!

My original sentiment still stands and I wish her well with all her future endeavours, but I just can't support her anymore and needed to talk about it with people who maybe understand?

I also really think she needs to take a break from social media. It doesn't seem to help her when she struggles with mental health problems.

Welcome to the forum! 😊

I'm so sorry to hear she was awful to you like that. A lot of us on here are former fans here who have all united on here for similar reasons.

That's awful! She really is a witch. Mental health struggles or not does not give you the right to behave like this. Disgusting behaviour!

That is awful but unsurprising sadly. She is also starting to represent the very radicalised and extreme left wing side of politics. Whilst there are definitely right wing extremists, it's the left that seem to be shutting down debate, blocking and shutting people down at the moment. Its actually just as scary as the far right

First of all, welcome! I appreciate you saying that you won’t get political here. :) Let’s just talk about how Carrie handled this.

We don’t see the communication between you both but if she did respond rudely and patronisingly, that would definitely mean goodbye for me as well. But then again, when you said you hope she’d see the error in her way, did you mean the fan interaction or the political views though?

I kinda think any public person is entitled to their views and doesn’t owe anyone else a debate on those views. You feel strong enough about the issue that you’d unfollow her for that, so maybe it’s fair enough for her to feel as strong enough to block your further interactions?

probably a controversial opinion here but I’m always in the “live and let live” camp. I think it’s good that Carrie is brave to stand by the view even though it costs her numbers. She has many flaws but for me this is not one.

@nrs264 Thanks! Yes that's why I unfollowed her really as I just couldn't back some of the things she was saying.

@PamSlams thanks for the support! By seeing the error of her ways I just meant fan interaction! I don't take issue with people voicing their opinions on controversial topics (I just unfollow if I don't agree) but I do think they should be open to criticism and debate and Carrie is very much the opposite of that. It's her way or the high way!

Also sorry I have no idea how to post direct replies to comments

You can stand by your view, without upsetting a fan who has supported your career. She's been in this game long enough to know how you do and don't handle yourself! No need to be so rude. Vile bully.

is it really shutting down though? She didn’t report or try to close down the OP’s account or anything. The OP can still post about anything in their own account and spread any info as much as they want. Carrie doesn’t owe Carrie’s space to anyone? It’s when she sent her minions to report or bully other accounts like on twitter that I have a problem with.
