It made her the most fertile woman ever so she’d only have to do it once. I can imagine her with ovulation kits, obsessively tracking her ovulation peak, lying over explaining to Joel about how doing it in outside of that window would ruin their chances to conceive so he’d wait for that one day. And then telling him the day arrived, he was finally gonna get lucky whilst closing her eyes, picturing Jamie and praying to all of her gods it would do the trick. Longest 2 minutes of her life probably.
2 minutes is generous I think for Joel The Unsexed 👑🤮

I sometimes wonder, if things had somehow worked out with Oliver, and they were still together would Carrie have tried to change his mind about kids or would she have leaned into it and gotten really big into being #ChildfreeByChoice?
I'm not convinced that she was truly bothered about potentially not having children. I think the reason she rushed into it so quickly with Jowl was to prove to Oliver that she was winning the breakup. Just being with Joel wasn't enough to demonstrate to Oliver how happy and over him she was because as we all know, there is nothing desirable or enviable about Joel. How could Oliver ever think that Carrie might be missing him or sad about him when she is married with a child?? (Carrie thinks to herself).

When I went to DLP I loved being in a Disney bubble for a few days and didn't have to worry about the outside world, but that's it.
People enjoy going on holidays because they feel relaxed and don't have to think about the mundane, day-to-day stuff. Not because they are "the best version of themselves"
To get to that point you need to work at it constantly. Disney doesn't just magically make you a better person.
And, also apparently Disney "inspires" her and makes her feel creative? When have we ever seen the outcome of that 🙄

Also not sure why she thought she'd never have a family. As others have said, it was her choice to stay with Oliver for as long as she did.
Even after they broke up, she managed to get into another relationship, get married then have Mabel so damn quickly it's almost insulting to those who genuinely struggle to start a family.

She is almost a caricature of herself at this point

Carrie was writing letters to her future children when she was in her early 20s, I remember seeing at least one YouTube video about that. She also feels the compulsive need to copy her brother in everything he does, so I have no doubt she has always wanted kids.

My 2 cents on Oliver: in her eyes he was the hottest man she could ever have so she kinda pushed things along and hoped she would change him. She was convinced she would succeed. I can’t forget the trip to some cold place (Finland? Not sure) where she was showing off how she did her manicure, she was so sure he would propose and everything else would fall into place after that, including kids. They probably had a fight when that didn’t happen and the breakup happened a month or less later because he was sick of her pushing him so he dumped her. We know she was dumped since she said it was out of the blue 😂.
At the cost of sounding mean, I also don’t think she ever really loved Oliver based on their interactions in videos. She never seemed to respect his opinions, even care to listen to them or put any effort into his family, I think he was more like a trophy to parade around and show off with. Someone that’s so in love and heartbroken doesn’t move on this quickly.

Last thing: I’m one of those that thinks Oliver is attractive but someone calling him a haunted ventriloquist dummy completely ruined things for me. 😂😂 He’s weird attractive, almost scary. Pete on the other hand is gorgeous and in an approachable way🔥, Carrie made a big mistake. She could have had beautiful babies with Pete and he really seemed to love her. Shame she ruined his reputation just to cover her cheating. 🤮

Funny how her past is still more interesting, the last 2 years have been such a snooze fest. 😴

I completely agree. I’ve had fertility struggles, loss, more fertility struggles and genuinely thought it would never happen for us and I believe her comments were so thoughtless and selfish.
can’t help but hope she has mild secondary fertility issues and has to have LOADS of sexy sex with her dishy husband Joel 🤮🤣
I agree, for me it was how she kept iterating that she THOUGHT getting pregnant would take ages, how she has so many friends doing IVF, she thought it would be sooo hard but whoops we got pregnant straight away! I can tell what she is trying to say, you never really know how long it will take you, but that wording was always so clumsy and insensitive.

On her podcast with Gi she literally said the sentence “turns out we are the most fertile people on planet earth” which is kinda disgusting and also kinda wrong. Honestly getting pregnant is a total lottery even with no known fertility issues, and getting lucky one month doesn’t really correlate to being more fertile… just statistically lucky. God forbid she wants more and struggles.

Re the copying everything Tom does, I can kind of understand why she feels the way she does about 30 being “old” to get married/have a baby. She was about 5 when Tom first met Gi so she doesn’t really know a life without her future sister in law there. This may have given her an unrealistic expectation about when you meet your future spouse. Meeting the person you marry at 13 is very much the exception though. Especially if you’re as annoying as Carrie 😂

True, but any normal person would realise this isn't the norm. But as Carrie never did college, uni, a normal job. She's never been exposed to the real world. She's been incredibly sheltered

I’ll say that as someone that comes from a country where people get married young (my mom had me few months before turning 25 and she was the oldest mother in my family, school, circle of friends etc) I always saw the majority of people marrying their first boyfriend/girlfriend and honestly felt a bit sorry for them. It’s not something I envied or strived for, I just thought it was so sad.
No offence to anyone here that married their first bf/gf, but I had so much fun meeting different guys when I was in high school and college and through different circle of friends, having flirty banter etc. Even going for a coffee to have a chat and just generally being exposed to so many different types of people changed my life for the better and helped me understand what I wanted out of a relationship. Tom and Gi don’t seem particularly happy to me, not everything that shines is really gold. Hope Carrie didn’t spend her entire life striving for that just because she grew up with that.

Maybe a bit off-topic, but I find it so fascinating how the whole family seems to be leeching off Tom’s fame. If he hadn’t become famous, none of them (Gi and Carrie) would be where they are now; they’d probably be working a regular job somewhere.
And he’s not even a global superstar. I honestly find that pretty fascinating.

Oh Carrie, you dumb witch

It’s very easy to love DW when it’s free or you have the privilege of being able to feel nostalgia for a place you went every bleeping year as a child

Cast Members are nice because they’re *contractually obligated to*. The ‘magic’ is part of their training.

The experience is curated because it’s a very successful business

If you had actually to pay, you’d go somewhere else

Also Maybelline is too young to go to Florida. She can’t go on anything. She won’t remember anything. I hope she screams and cries and you have a miserable time

He’s not even that famous in the UK IMO

I'm also very much over her making it seems like Oliver not wanting kids is a huge character flaw. He wasn't holding her back or crushing her dreams, he just didn't want to have children. She had plenty of time to break up with him if it was such an issue, but she didn't.
This has happened to my sister twice. She's never made any secret of her not really wanting kids. She had to end things with 2 ex-boyfriends because after a couple of years they thought they could talk her round and started pressuring her to change her mind. Thankfully, she's now very happy with her live-in boyfriend, who is happy with just having a dog, 2 cats, a hedgehog, and a bearded dragon as their children 😂

It didn’t surprise me when she started making insensitive comments about fertility and easy conception etc. She’s always been very smug, even when she was in her early twenties. It’s because she’s never had to work hard for anything in her life.
Imagine if she wasn't able conceive as easily as she was. She would've dumped Joel if he didn't serve his purpose as a sperm donor.

Came here to say as well as Disney being fun escapism (if it's your thing) I wonder how many times Carrie has actually had to pay the full price? Virtually never I hazard despite being able to afford to.

Her parents paid when they were children or the kids' West End pay cheques covered it (did Tom actually perform for many years?). I imagine Tom paid for everyone during his early/mid career when McFly were at their peak and he was earning £££. I could see this continuing once he and Gi became influencers/Disney ambassadors. Would they get extra freebies for guests? Could they twist Disney/Virgin's arm for another room and flights for his parents as 'childcare' then pay for Carrie as an extra? Maybe extra guests aren't free but deeply discounted.

Carrie LOVES a freebie and is pretty tight about spending her own money. Disney is *so* expensive now especially since the pandemic, it's really unrelatable to brag about going there annually just because it's your 'family tradition' 🙄

When Scott went two years ago I got the impression they'd been waiting for him to be able to go as Carrie's plus-one as part of the Tom/Gi influencer package.
