bloody hell I can’t stand the pack mentality of that place, woke policing contest in Full force.

It’s a shame women aged 50 or thereabouts are still easily swayed by a gobby, unqualified saleswoman who’s after their cash and doesn’t give two fucks about their skin.I think it's probably also women in or around her own age who see her as relatable
Are you part of her group?I'm 40 and I'd say more seem around my age.
We're the perfect age, beginning to realise we don't look young anymore, and with a decent amount of cash to lay out in product
Disclaimer: not a chemist, product developer or come from a dynasty of SAs, did a little reading on base oils years ago, so influencer level of knowledge
Had a little look at that brand and their ingredients. They seem to use a lot of different base oils and not the inexpensive ones, and if the oils are cold-pressed or CO2 extracted, high quality etc., that's not cheap. But it's not THAT expensive. Also, they seem to throw everything at once, when just a mixture of 3-4 oils will do the same thing. However, the amount of essential oils in their products is criminal. I know not everyone will react to essential oils or have a problem ever, but a lot of people will. Especially if you put them over AHAs, retinol or any active ingredients, not to mention citrus oils which are phototoxic or photosensitive. They have a "Summer Oil" with practically every citrus oil, wtf?
Are you part of her group?
I've seen reviews stating that Darphin or May Lindstrom or some other essential oil heavy brand helped them with eczema or rosacea, so who knows, I've almost always had a bad reaction, and my derm told me the general rule is to stay clear, but especially if you have reactive skin. If the ingredient is on the bottom of the INCI list, I'd probably tolerate the product better, but these oils filled with frankincense, geranium, citrus and straight up perfume irritate the duck out of my skin (even on my body). She often recommends products with essentail oils for sensitive skin:
I joined the group a couple of years ago ( after she'd done a collaboration with Space NK - and there was a fantastic selection of goodies in kit which was just over £100) and when there were fewer than 10,000 members....it was definitely more select then and the members were more friendly and knowledgeable...now it's just a bun fight to see who can get the most likes and spend the most money!I've just muted the group for a month. So much drama. I'm into skincare, not squabbles.
It sounds as though since Caroline’s persona changed so did the profile of her audience and membership. I’ve read comments on Instagram from long-standing members (from 5+ years ago) where they ask a simple question and just get shot down with rudeness. But then equally I’ve seen people having a go a ‘newbies’ and making them feel really unwelcome too. It just seems like a mean girls club and if your face doesn’t fit then you’re out. Caroline obviously sets the tone, and these people are made to feel its perfectly ok to behave in this way - as long as they don’t slag off brands or flog cheap tretI joined the group a couple of years ago ( after she'd done a collaboration with Space NK - and there was a fantastic selection of goodies in kit which was just over £100) and when there were fewer than 10,000 members....it was definitely more select then and the members were more friendly and knowledgeable...now it's just a bun fight to see who can get the most likes and spend the most money!
It makes me laugh when she says she could monitize the group but hasn't. WTF are the kits then?!
What exactly would she do, charge to belong to the group? I wouldn’t pay to read her nonsense

Just to add , I’m 52.
You’re the same age as my mam! I bet your skin is loads better than Caroline’s ;-) mam looks younger than 52, and way younger than CH who is only a year or two younger? Mam’s not into skincare at all lol she likes micellar water, wet wipes to cool down when it’s hot, basic face wash, and some eye creams/serums that I buy her because she’s convinced she has awful eye bags (she doesn’t). CH would scream if she knew
