CH doesn't often recommend cheaper products. She makes a big thing about not getting into debt for skincare etc then says you get what you pay for and whips everyone into a frenzy about kits that cost hundreds of pounds. People on minimum wage are spending nearly £100 on a month or two worth of glycolic acid wipes because she says they are the best. The Ordinary has a glycolic toner that contains a significant amount that costs a few pounds and lasts forever.

Yep! That toner has lasted me for 2.5 years and it’s okay. I use it once every 2 weeks though... hardly ever in comparison to what the queen recommends... hmmm. I can’t believe they call her the queen.

She’s talking bollocks because there’s no way her tip will equal or better the cost of a Josh Wood stylist and colourist.

I was surprised when she said Josh Wood salon because I recall seeing her on Instagram a while ago and thinking her highlights/colour looked a bit unsophisticated as though they had been done by someone who had just done basic training and not kept up to date with techniques. If nothing else it means we can get our cheap haircuts without worrying we look worse!

I dunno man, they have a lot in common
- out of touch with commoners
- 4 kids
- depends on public goodwill
- giant house
- special separate room for gifts (incoming)
- accepts over-enthusiastic fawning on regular basis
Forgot the MOST IMPORTANT point
- tells Boris what to do

Edit: Also
- family works for her
- personal 'seal of approval' on overpriced items for sale (e.g. doublecleanse/ fortnum and mason goods)
- inexplicable dress code

That's interesting... I bought the pixi toner on the bleeping queen's recommendation and I've broken out all over my cheeks which never happens. I was using it 2x a day... So maybe too much!
My eyes are well and truly opened to the pushing of products.

My eyes have been opened on CH. I thought she was a skincare expert (lol) recommending products because she knew they worked. She’s nothing but a saleswoman & often works closely with the brands of the products she ‘swears by’. She should really discuss high street brands (stuff you find in Boots/Superdrug/Supermarkets) because that’s what most people can afford! I was so close to buying the Dr Dennis Gross peel pads (£89 for 30 😵) but I gave my head a good wobble! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with brands like Simple, The Ordinary, Superdrug Vitamin E range is fantastic for dry skin. Personally speaking, I have a few ‘high end’ products but the rest can be bought in Boots/Superdrug. It makes me sad and angry in equal parts to think she’s making people spend their money on skincare in times like this.

Due to circumstances, I haven't put a moisturiser (or anything) on my face for 3 weeks. Nothing happened. Nothing. My face felt a bit dry a couple of times and that's about it. I wash my face with Uriage Zn-Cu soap free body and face gel because I have to use it on my body. I'm not saying goodbye to skin care in general or claiming that everything is useless, on the contrary, but just wanted to point out that I was truly convinced my face would be completely fucked if I didn't "take care" of it. Again, this isn't one of those "I only use lard and rain water" BTL comments, just that sometimes we don't need much or anything.
For reference - normal/combination sensitive couperose skin; and it's 30°C in the shade where I live, so you're practically sweating most of the day and that's enough moisture for me

Did anyone watch the live earlier? She spouted that Britain uses over a billion wipes and plastic cotton Buds blah blah then after showing the first product, a ren cleanser, she proceeds to get a packet of wipes (off camera but you can clearly hear them) and pulls out a wipe to wipe it off the back of her hand!! Slightly hypocritical Caroline

I think I have seen her use Water Wipes which I think are biodegradable?

I don't use wipes (other than for cleaning my loo and cats litter tray) but if I needed to buy wipes I'd try and get biodegradable ones.

According to the group Indeed Labs have used her name and logo on their website without permission.

So she used to rate Indeed labs highly. All the hype over Hydruloruon etc etc
she commented on someone’s question on the Facebook group saying she would no longer be recommending them - this presumably is based on the fact they used her logo.

The point is, she’s now never going to recommend the products again, products whi she loved previously. I understand that if a company is shady you may not want to support them, but it just shows how easily she flips on a brand, now won’t ever speak of them. This just further opened my eyes to the politics involved in her recommendations.

she did something similar with Sunday Riley - wouldn’t speak of them for years, then suddenly they have a bunch of products on her kits and it’s a love in again.

She used to call Hydraluron "Hironsluron". Indeed Labs were referred to as her favourite Canadians since Bryan Adams. She has now deleted all references to Indeed from her website, including the hydraluron which was a "hall of fame" product. It's still in the Google cache but gone from the website. Pathetic

@monki That's I think the thing that most upsets me about Caroline. She's encouraging a lot of spending for products that don't work for everyone. So her fans end up with irritated skin, buy more products, irritated skin, buy more products...an endless cycle. The hashtag #Carolinehironsmademedoit is just so gross. I would not be proud to have my name attached to that.

The #CHmademedoit thing is horrid. Here it is slapped on a £90 serum. You get 30ml for that price.
But remember kids; don’t get into debt for skincare! 🤢

I have seen this post recommended by Jessica Defino and funny enough i realised that I had a bit of rosacea on my cheeks, also something to keep in mind is that CH has no proper degree on skin health or Chemistry, not sure if feel sorry about people getting burnt because of acids if they follow her so blindly instead of do a proper research

K Beauty is not just one category of products, saying all products from a specific country are part of "a trend" is just ignorant and borderline racist tbh. There are plenty of trendy products from the states, would she call US Beauty a trend? Several British white women have expressed similar sentiments in the past, but people just looked right past it.
