I saw that post last night and pretty much imploded. Hirons has no clue about people with disabilities, I definitely don't need her flying the flag for disability awareness.

As far as I'm aware she hasn't employed anyone with a physical disability.. the reason why I say that is they'd feature a lot in her promotional tit as she'd consider herself to be the leader in employing disabled people

I'm probably not explaining myself well. She's really fucked me off.
Her 'inclusion' of people with disabilities as the only reason for someone WFH is based on her own bigotry, assuming 'disability' means a poor soul in a wheelchair, unable to even push themselves into the next room. Which is just patronising all round.

The one big reason to allow WFH for roles where it is appropriate is because remote working is the single greatest invention for those with caring responsibilities ie women. For a woman who likes to trill about supporting women, by banning WFH for her entire team she's effectively cutting out recruiting any women with young children or aging parents - employees who might need time off to take someone else for medical appointments, who might need to start at 9.15 after the school run or slip off between 3 and 4pm, but who are likely to be more loyal and dedicated to an employer who enables them to balance their lives.

But she doesn't want that - she wants cheap young people with no other demands on their time, so she can make them work as late as she wants and screech at them to bring her tea every five minutes. And while we're on that topic, who the duck is expected nowadays to bring their boss cups of tea? It's demeaning, no one does this anymore.

At heart she's really just a 1970s middle aged chauvinist man in a bad wig.

Can you tell she's fucked me off too? 😂

This is her in a nutshell. So many more professional ways she could have worded this but she can't help herself. The post script bit patronising/ warning off people with disabilities from criticising her is positively Partridge-esque. I cannot fathom what it must be like to work for her if she takes against you for some reason. She just reeks of unprofessionalism.
And yet she truly believes this level of gobby straight talking brashness is what her freaky followers love about her! She's made it her signature, her metier, and is convinced that's why she's so successful (for now....)

I really feel like she’s constantly spoiling for a fight these days. Apart from the other advantages mentioned about remote work there is also a housing crisis and rents are through the roof. Not many young people will be able to afford to move to Central London with what she’s paying. Meaning that her jobs are only open to those living at home or those wealthy enough

I know that her mentality is that she was able to work and move to London when she was younger but the world has changed now. It was possible to live in cities as a young person earning a relatively low salary but that’s out of the question now for places like London

This is brilliant!! She is a dinosaur cosplaying as a big boss business lady.

You've put this so well, I had the exact same thought yesterday but couldn't be arsed to type it out into a sensible rant, so thank you for being my voice!

To just totally undermine the question by calling it a "BS request" really pissed me off too. I have adhd and I can't cope with 5 days a week in the office as I get overwhelmed and it means I have no remaining energy left to spend time with my partner, family etc. so I work 99% remotely. She's a bleeping moron.

And most of her teams jobs seem to be computer based anyway - so why isn't it possible to wfh?
I've long thought her bellowing 'who's that going off home then? Byeee!' as she peers through the door during a live was passive aggressive and aimed to let them know she's still working as they slope off 'early'.
Yep! ‘We’re a family, in that I’m like the narcissistic matriarch that must have control over every coming and going in my office home’. Her answer to ‘can you have it all was extremely telling too. Nice way to let your children and your husband know that most of the time one of you isn’t going to be at all considered, loved or cared for by her…

Not to brag but I had it all. Successful career and a child. How did I do it?? OH pulled his weight. Simples.

I wonder if the building aggression is a symptom of her trying to keep a lid on her mounting panic at the way the business is going? The big hitter skincare brands have quietly dropped her, kits not selling out because they’re just an ad hoc mix of crap brands, Skin Rocks not the massive hit she’d banked on….. She knows she’s bitten off more than she can chew and is stressing big time

The beauty industry is one of the most disabledphobic industries there is. A huge fuss is made about skin tones / widening shade ranges , employing minorities and rightly so but companies don’t invite disabled people on brand trips or rarely promote them on their social media/ I have never seen a disabled employee on any of the beauty companies I have follow. When I have emailed to ask I just get an all disabilities are n t alway visible generic reply. .

Hard agree. Plus her comments like "if I'm here, they'll stay, unless I tell them to go" as if that's because they all love working there and are so dedicated, when in reality it's fear.

I've just stumbled across this thread, no idea she was so problamatic...!!!!

I got recomended the Retinoid in Space NK, has anyone got any reccomendations on a good retinol as her once is doing naff all...!

Welcome! These threads will open your eyes! Many here are ex-Freaks who have seen the light.
You’ll see various nicknames for Hirons on here - Nellie, Oaf, Gangsta to name but three. Just didn’t want you to wonder who we are talking about! 😆

I’m not an expert on retinal I’m afraid but I’m sure someone else will be able to advise.

I find the trinny London purple one really good for skin texture and moisturising. It’s not a miracle worker like Botox is on wrinkles but it’s been really good for my skin in a noticeable way.

edited to say I’ve tried several from the ordinary, medik8 and others can’t recall off the top of my head but the trinny London made a difference that I’ve continued to repurchase
