I agree with you that Hirons probably hates Paula. I remember reading a few pieces from her about Paula and it was a very frenemies type vibe

I mean, look at this

That was a bleeping weird read and honestly made me kind of uncomfortable. The mineral oil part. I understand it is a controversial ingredient (although from what I understand most of the claims that it is harmful have now been debunked) but like... Paula works with cosmetic chemists, surely she is up to date with her research. Idk, it's kind of weird of Caroline to insist that she knows better. She is a sales woman.. Paula has studied science at uni, has experience as an esthe and owns a skincare line (at least from what I read online)

Doesn't CH always say she doesn't like competing against women or pitting women against each other? Seems like shes hell bent on discrediting Paula when I would take Paula's advice first and foremost over CH.

Quoting from the "interview ":

"PB: ‘Well the research says that it is a wound healing ingredient. There is no negative research about mineral oil.’

CH: ‘Weellll, that depends what studies you read.’ 🙂

PB: *sits forward* ‘What studies?’

There follows a long off the record conversation about mineral oil and brands that use it."

A long off the record conversation about mineral oil and brands gives us no further information about the "studies"...

CH is always acting like she has some kind of special knowledge that others don't have. Cherry picking information and "studies" to suit your agenda does not equal good research. I'd like to see the "studies" myself (as someone with a science background who is currently writing up a research paper)!

Yes, it was weird that she didn't include just a bit of info about mineral oil, or a link or something. That whole article was bleeping weird. Would have been better suited for a video conversation or mini podcast episode or something. They hardly even talked about anything, just some platitudes and very surface level clichés. I wish people who have NO writing talent would stop writing blogs. Or hire an editor.

Her arguments about mineral oils in her “Bible”:
(ed.: I don’t care that much about mineral oils and there are many more controversies with Gransta, but this list is just for fun, to show how she has no ground about her opinion, er sorry advice)

p. 21: “I don’t like it (mineral oil) on my skin. Companies use it for 2 reasons: it’s not likely to cause allergic reaction and it’s cheap.”
(ok? so what is wrong with that again?)

p.133 “cleanse with good quality oils and balm cleansers [ …] avoid mineral oil…”
(why? a cleanser is not a serum to spend that much, didn’t the queen herself say you don’t need to invest much in something that goes directly to drain?)

p. 209 - “do not use mineral oil around your eye area. It tends to make the area puffy”
(ok, I have no experience here as I usually put on a cream when my eyes are already puffy and it can’t get worse with a cream, but having English as my third language with a non-native teacher, we were taught that the verb “tend to” is very biased (something like might, could or it’s believed, but never “does”) Makes sense now…. 🤷‍♀️)

ETA: Congratulations to @jeezlouise and @Expelliarmus for the thread title and thanks @SqualorVictoria for this thread!

Is the ‘things that didn’t happen’ file still open?

Price just revealed at £230. I think the viewers maxed out at around 2700 so not massive numbers compared to how many members there are of the freaks group.

I can’t see it being a sell out (unless it “appears” to sell out but then they manage to find a few extras a bit later - run don’t walk Freaks!).
Cost of living has risen so £230 is a lot imho when we are at the start of the rise of energy prices.
I think she has got the release date so wrong this time.

FB Freak post “Happy Kitmas Freaks!” - oh do duck off! 🙄 Oh she’s an Admin so it’s a featured post, my apologies, “please“ duck off! 😁

Yes Brendan Truax went into wholesale paranoia. Mind you, Deciem and The Ordinary in particular were truly disruptive in terms of offering low cost single active formulas. Hirons in comparison is an insignificant player with her Kits, Boxes and forthcoming skincare range - and fast becoming a one trick pony with her ever more disturbing rants about everything and no way confined to the beauty industry 😒
