So her strategy is to now video the little boy covertly so he isn't even aware she's recording him - he thinks he's having a private chat with his mammy. I don't know why but this makes me so sad and bit icky. My little girl was asleep in a funny position yesterday and I went to take a pic to send to my friend (who she loves) but I stopped myself. I thought Jesus what was I thinking, the child is asleep and I wouldn't like anybody taking my photo and sending it to someone. Even though it was entirely innocent and it was only being shared with a friend who I love, it wouldn't have been digified or respectful to my daughter. It is absolutely disgusting how she's treating her son and the worst part is that she knows better. She knows and does it anyway.

Am I being cynical or is that a Beggy Mitchell post for someone to send sensory equipment . If she just wanted recommendations would she not just say that instead of then going on to list specific items and saying that she needed to buy them🤔

she is 💯 asking for free stuff. I’m pretty sure the OT would recommend a few things but a quick google search and you will find a whole host of suggested toys. Tons on Amazon!

Bit of a reality check by a proper professional. It’s all a bit real now even though she has tried to ignore the signs . Can I just say a child’s intelligence had nothing to do with potty training he is clearly neurodivergent and will excel at some things and not at others and what planet is she on that she doesn’t know there are literal year waiting lists for crèches

All of a sudden she’s looking for montessori’s again. The OT must have recommended and she listened which is good. It will make life harder for her son if she doesn’t have him in ECCE soon. They can ensure he gets the correct support when he starts school. That’s why ECCE is in place.

Absolutely I’d say she was read the riot act in a nice way as to all the things she should be doing and could have been doing . I hope she finds Montessori for him as soon as possible . How will she cope with all the play equipment ruining the aesthetic .

From what she wrote about the assessment today it seems she was told the child needs to be out and about running off his energy, mixing with others, to release some of the built up energy that comes out as “tantrums” and being allowed be a young child. She’s had him coddled in her house out of preschool for fear that he’ll have meltdowns that she says she can’t handle.

Oh wow so the advice is to do the opposite of what she’s been doing all along, shock horror, who’d have thunk it ??!
Nah seriously though sounds like she has her work cut out and he’s on the severe end if they’re recommending sensory swings
The severe end would be non verbal , he has a very common sensory processing disorder which can be part of autism. He may find bouncing or spinning or swinging will regulate him ( that p word she used )

Is Montessori pre-school or something more specific?

I know of the Montessori method etc and I know there are places that are specific Montessori schools/nurseries but, certainly in this part of England, they aren't close by we don't have any close here and I think they're expensive?

Are they more prevelant in Ireland or is this just an example of Caroline's privilege?

Montessori is just a posh name for playschool.
