This looks promising:-

There is a slightly more detailed article in today’s Times if anyone is a subscriber (paywall).

Ideally, this sort of trial would be available for BowelBro, especially if he’s not a candidate for surgical treatment:-

She’s posted on Insta story’s this afternoon. They have to wait until next Tuesday for the biopsy on Violets face mass - she’s on antibiotics until then but Lizzie doesn’t think they have made any difference to it so far. 🙁

If it is nontuberculous mycobacterial cervical lymphadenopathy then antibiotic treatment will take months/ years to work - I think Lizzi mentions that towards the end of her stories. Mycobacteria are difficult to treat unfortunately (but not impossible).

Complete surgical excision used to be the treatment of choice but there is precious little “elbow room” in that part of the body (especially a child’s) & the complication rate was unacceptably high.

I gather treatment these days is bespoke to the individual & can include several different therapies to bring about resolution. Treatment will take years though which is the last thing this family needs (or any tbh but it seems worse with all they’ve been through).

They don’t know what it is yet. They are treating with antibiotics as an interim before they biopsy.

Sorry change of subject. Just come on to ask what peoples opinions are of these patreon websites?? Seen iamkatiestevenson has posted about having a patreon site, so if anyone wants updates on her cancer they have to subscribe 🙄🤣🙈🤷‍♀️ and pay a monthly fee?? I mean she's got just 3k followers and nothing special so can't see the benefit personally

So far I haven’t seen one social media “personality” that I would waste my hard earned money on to hear their opinion on anything. The only person I would vaguely consider would be Dawn O’Porter because she’s great 😊

Interesting update from BowelBro.

It’s why I’ve said from the start that don’t ‘name and shame’ the oncologist etc. as there’s always two sides. I think it sounded like a complete personality clash. And seeing how Bowel Bro is, I’m not surprised he rubbed them up the wrong way- didn’t like what he was hearing so went to the next oncologist who sort of told him what he wanted to hear which made him think his team were against him.

I hope now he’s going to just step back, listen and if the time comes where he needs a private referral to a specialist it’ll come with full support of his team.
