You do realise that Haven and Butlins are more expensive than going abroad right!? My June half term cruise cost £520 a person So if there was four people it would be about £2,000 not much more than Haven charge these days. Domestic travel is oddly oddly expensive

All 4 of us need passportso there’s that added cost, plus my travel insurance isn’t standard, 1 adult + 3 kids = hotel room is far more expensive (for unknown fucking reasons) and the only time I’ve found going abroad roughly the same cost is when it’s a Skegness in Spain sort of area/quality and I just can’t bring myself to do it

But I’m hoping that next year, I can take them for one or two long weekend European City breaks. If I’m going for a week or longer, it would have to be all inclusive because am I fuck cooking and cleaning whilst on holiday.

Ex will probably pay for our two kids passports because they’ve not been to his motherland for about 5 years now and they’re dying to try out their language skills on family that still live out there. But still. Eye watering.

The only people I don’t get angry at for luxury 10K plus holidays are my Grandparents who have both worked their asses off for an early, lovely retirement (they were about 40/41 when I was born) and I love seeing them jet off. They’ve been to places I could only ever dream of, and my Gran worked full time in an era where she was fucking shunned for it!

Be happy you're not trying to get a passport in Canada right now... the earliest appointment you can get with most passport offices to expedite your application is July or August and people are paying other people to queue up just to get them an appointment date. I'm sew sew glad my 10-year one doesn't expire til 2027.

As I've said before, LiarBrogan has zero concept of how most people live and the priorities that most adults have. They're going on all these holidays, some for free and some paid for, but meanwhile the back of the house is falling down. She has Mejulie to look after Bonnie otherwise she'd be paying for a kennel. I know the one my dog goes to is about $35-40 CAD per night. That's another expense when saving for a vacation. I have to replace my roof by 2025 so that's what I'm saving for next. Thankfully my trip to Japan later this year was already saved for pre-pandemic but that took me two years. If I go to Disney next year with my mum it will probably be her treat and I'll buy her a nice meal and gift to thank her.

She doesn’t have anything else going on like most other people. This summer I have my driving test, we’ve got family weddings and my sister is having her first baby so lots to look forward to and keep us occupied over the summer. Her life is 99% empty outside of her trips.
