I mean the places in stavanger that are tourist traps (the trolls outside are always a tell tale sign) are the only real small business. The rest are chains. Even the tour companies are national. They aren’t and they do, but some of the places they cruise ships visit are tiny and the tourism pumps a lot of money in. Places like Flåm (which Iona doesn’t go to I don’t think) have a population of about 350 and so in one day having 3000 people turn up and use the shops, cafes and attractions pumps a whole lot of cash in
Chances are it will have a narvesen or a 7-11 or a diamond shop. The rest will be tur Norge etc.
Norway is very much social democracy and one for all etc etc.
