This is crazy to me. I vastly prefer third person, past tense. I kind of hate that many BookTok favourites only seem to be written in first person, present tense. I think it's so corny
Trust Brogan to struggle with a book that isn't written as if she's living it. I'm convinced she only likes books she can directly relate to, which is why she didn't like Red, White, Royal Blue (because it's a romance between two men). I thought the point of reading was to empathise with people who have lived different lives to you and broaden your perspective that way.
