Agree and believe everything does indeed sound legit, but can almost say without a doubt, we ain’t seen the last of him yet! This guys days are not yet done!Agree sometimes you don’t have a choice but to give opiates like fentanyl in pts at risk of bowel obstruction - the alternatives are paracetamol and ibuprofen which may not quite cut it for cancer pain- but yes you should also give laxatives alongside.
Rich has tumours on the peritoneum (lining of the abdomen). Very common for pts with this to get subacute bowel onstruction and sadly surgery is often not possible.
If a pt is known to the palliative care team they may well be admitted directly to a hospice from home - particularly on the eve of a nursing strike when hospitals will be in chaos.
Don't get me wrong - Rich isn't my cup of tea at all - just from the medical side a lot of what he is saying makes sense . If he is making it up - he's doing a v good job!
It would be almost rule of thumb to discuss opiate use and constipation with this type of patient and I’m sure he’s probably been instructed to present to this facility should he be concerned regards pain/constipation. I would hope he’s known this will be an issue that’s able to be resolved or why else would you be spending precious time (last days) on social media … I mean that thought actually begs the question as to how cared about and respected this guy really is among family and friends, if this is how he asserts his priorities at a very finite period of time in his life. Perhaps it’s not just us who attribute his name to be synonymous with absolute hole!
