She paid upfront. He had toothache so didn't turn up for 3 days. She said she has found someone else to install them and just has to try and get the money back from the first guy.

That's what people advise you do. No idea why she's paid him upfront it's not like he has to spend out loads on materials! I know MDF isn't cheap anymore but even so he's not buying steels and paying other people. He's definitely took them for a ride!

If she's paid him up front I'd imagine she's also paid the cowboys upfront and that's why she's put up with it!
