Someone on Reddit also said this in relation to Paul's straight pride comments:

Whilst we’re on the subject of Paul and what he hasn’t actually said it wasn’t Paul who mentioned straight pride either… it was Matty talking about things people bring up to diminish the historically oppressed sections of society they’re used in relation too, he also mentioned the all lives matter thing.

People really need to put their pitchforks down.

It’s mad how people take Twitter, TikTok and any social media post as factual evidence just parroting other people’s false statements. The amount of times I’ve been to told check TikTok is ridiculous, TikTok isn’t somewhere look for reliable evidence of potential wrongdoings.

Everyone up in arms about this so quickly because of a screenshot, and these same people could potentially be called up for jury duty… what a horrifying thought!

I’ve said this before on here when this first happened and got downvoted to double figures so it’s not surprising you never saw it if you’ve visited here before.

But yep, Paul never said it. They were discussing different life pressure, Olivia for example mentioned the pressure of being a woman and having kids and having a body clock and a time limit on having kids.

Paul said elsewhere in the conversation there were pressures for straight white men, which I don’t necessarily disagree with even if it was a little tone death during the conversation. He didn’t say they were oppressed but had their own pressures, that’s kind of an objective fact they do.

Matty mentioned the straight pride comment and also mentioned the all lives matter movement when talking to Paul after what he said.

It was genuinely an interesting conversation that should have been aired. Yet people on here and twitter were stating things that weren’t true, calling him homophobic for a comment he never made.

There’s a reason why he wasn’t removed from the house, he didn’t even get a warning but he was called to the diary room apparently and BB just reminding him why some conversations are sensitive for some people.

There’s also a reason why non of the LGBT housemates have never used this as an excuse to nominate him or moan about him and that’s because the conversation that actually happened had far more context to it than people were saying.

But people made up their mind after seeing whatever on social media and the mud has well and truly stuck! Which is why it definitely should have been aired to clear his name but judging by how people acted it’s a good job they didn’t air it.

There was a producer on Twitter who said he was called to the diary room in order to make him aware that conversations like this can be sensitive to some people, they never gave him a warning. I just think ITV were being cautious for his sake and theirs.

Someone asked the producer why it wasn’t aired and that was the reason given.

It wasn’t like that either, they were literally all just talking about their own pressures that they all face having an adult conversation. It wasn’t diminishing what anyone was saying but obviously Matty mentioned the straight pride thing after imo to kinda put things into perspective for Paul.

I’m not going to get into the whole who’s the most oppressed thing because even as someone who’s gay it becomes a bit tedious, but either way I genuinely would have enjoyed taking part in that conversation and wouldn’t have taken anything personally or taken any offence to what Paul said. I’d have probably agreed with him in some regards but also would have said what Marty said because overall it was a well balanced conversation.

Shame ITV were too tetchy to air it.

If Hallie hadn't been trans and in the house would it still feel as dodgy?

My 8 year old nephew would do that cause he's a kid and boobs and willies are funny (to him, not me lol). Paul has the maturity of an 8 year old so I can see it being done but with no malice

Bit different for an 8 year old to do it than a grown ass man who has been living with a trans woman for the past 3 weeks.

Not something I'd think to do. But fortunately I do have the mentality of an 8 year old boy & as you say Paul does. I think most people though may take a pause having just lived with a trans person for weeks. Hard to believe it hadn't crossed his mind 🤷‍♀️
 
How are people finding recordings of the live feed, is there somewhere on the internet where you can find them? As far as I can tell there are no live stream recordings on ITVX, 🙁

ffs Paul didn’t say anything wrong imo, why did people twist it? Glad this clip is out there now. I’m no Paul fan but I’m feeling sorry for him re straight pride and Hallie Skelton gate.

People just jump to conclusions when they don’t like someone, like the ‘he’s racist’ comments for not liking Trish and Noky asif he’s the only person to not like them both 🫣

I can’t stand Trish or Noky out of all the housemates to be honest. I think because he comes across as a rough scouser, people just stereotype him and assume he’s a racist - prejudiced cunts. Let’s #Justice4Paul trending!
 
Is it a coincidence that it’s (arguably) the most working class person in the house, who is from an area that has historically been judged as low class (scousers are thieves or benefit cheats etc) that everyone is very very keen to label as “probably” a racist/transphobe/etc with no evidence at all as far as I can see? Happy to be corrected if he did actually do the penis/skeleton thing but seems that’s just not happened?

Is this classism in action (i dont actually think so but seems apt for this thread to accuse people of bigotry without any evidence )? Jordan has barely stopped slagging Nokky, is he a racist? Or too posh for that malarkey?

As a person who’s a born and bred scouser for the past 25 years I can confirm we are always the first to be judged, we’re known as the rough council estate benefit bum city and to be honest (not to toot me own horn) we are some of the nicest genuine people who are always the first to lend a hand because 90% of us have had many struggles.

Paul is a massive tit and always has been but the amount of times he’s been labelled for what reason? As you say Jordan doesn’t get the same treatment because he acts like he’s just been for tea round Boris’s with Henry.

Until there’s proof which up to now there isn’t people need to stop making such wild accusations that in reality could damage people once they’re out the house.

I’m using “povvo” in the ”“chav” sense rather than earnings.

Seriously though. Why is he a bit Farage? He didn’t say the straight pride thing and he didn’t do anything transphobic. Did he? Have I missed a comment or some nuance? Cos If not well, this is the point re classism, init. The perspective some people hold in the UK that the Jeremy Kyle lot are all a bit too thick to be anything BUT racist, evidence or not?

ETA: soz for getting too deep on what should be a light thread. Paul would be the first to tell me to bore off and then do something hilarious like put lettuce on me’ head
