Surely Kerry is no longer employed by the NHS? Someone in such a senior role taking approx 6 weeks off to go on a TV show where she could potentially show the NHS in a negative light wouldn’t be allowed?

It's a nothing management job, I can't imagine her doing anything remotely business critical. They probably achieve more without her being there. When she asked for six weeks off they insisted on six months I bet.

It would be unpaid leave, you can take up to 1 year unpaid sabbatical I believe.
