Same but different situation.

I've a 17 year old son with special needs and I would rather people ask me 100 questions in a row and be educated properly than ask zero questions and not have a clue.
Any conversation around educating yourself is good imo. If I'm not comfortable answering a question or it's the wrong environment I will just say ... can we talk about this another time.

Hallie stood up and announced it to the group, said she was open to questions so then can't complain when she's asked a question !

( side note... them stealing the pot noodles when she wanted one was sly. I hope she's not going to be treated as an outsider)
My son has additional needs and is non verbal so can’t answer questions for himself, I get a lot of questions about him which could be offensive (he’s really high on the scale of additional needs so it’s pretty obvious to strangers) I am more then happy to answer any questions people ask me whether it be family or a stranger in the Asda. I wouldn’t then go and slag them off because I know that the life I have is miles from what other peoples are and if I can educate one person on the life of a child with additional needs then I think I’ve done a good job. Farida was really respectful and what she asked was a question that I’m sure a lot of people would want to know the answer too

Or to ask someone else, therefore behind that person's back 🙄 It's like Farida can't win. I bet Farida wouldn't be offended if anyone asked her an 'ignorant' question about being Muslim.
Well exactly, there’s nothing wrong with asking an ignorant question if the intention is to better yourself.

I’m openly gay, and I remember when I asked my muslim friend:

“If your religion is totally against being gay and doesn’t accept it, why are you such good friends with me?”

and she replied “If I have a problem with you, I’ve got a problem between myself and god”.

What I asked may seem like i’m stereotyping all muslims as homophobes, but it’s to learn and understand so I avoid jumping to that assumption.

Exactly! It’s pissing me off. It’s literally a different world and bloody good on her for asking questions and not keeping herself in a box with one way of thinking.

She’s a lovely lovely lady and it’s actually uncomfortable to watch her being left out and slagged off when she’s doing nothing wrong.
Halle was complaining but it was a different story when she spoke to Farida about it

Farida’s naive “just want to learn” act while asking extremely personal questions didn’t really wash with me tbh.
But she literally did just want to learn, you don’t realise just how closed off and traditional life is inside a muslim community.

My old boss was in arranged marriage, to a man she never met until the wedding day, organised by her dad. He ended up abusing her and they split up eventually.

Because she was shielded away from western ideas and values, she didn’t understand why I was gobsmacked when she told me. To her, that’s totally normal and it’s what all her family have done for years. She couldn’t understand how I could just jump on Tinder and bring any old Joe Bloggs through the door. It was alien to her.

Of course she’s going to seem ignorant and rude asking such personal questions, but when has she ever had the chance to understand what’s acceptable and unacceptable to ask? How often does the topic of transgender people having sex with straight men come up at the dinner table?

I think it’s a valid question from someone who will litterally have little to no knowledge of any LGBTQIA+ because of her religion.
Thing is, it's not really about Hallie is it? It's more about a potential partner.

I'm just surprised someone can get to Farida's age and not have learnt how to phrase questions a bit more sensitively.

I think Hallie was maybe more taken aback than offended.

I get that, but this is a woman who has appeared on multiple tv shows and is now on Big Brother. A traditional Muslim woman she is not.

I can understand Halle being defensive about it because trans people must hear comments like that all the time for people who are out to belittle or hurt them. And I suppose for Farida to ask that as a first question must have been a bit 😮

Farida was not asking from a place of ignorance though, I do feel she wants to learn and understand and is probably a bit curious too.

It was nice to see that our forum favourite Olivia might take Yinrun under her wing after defending her in the kitchen. Teaching Yinrun to kick ass, take names and help her believe she can be whatever she dreams to be. Yinrun still an early potential winner.

They should have let the bed task go on until the end. Why did they start it in the first place? Like @Ensay said it was almost as if they got bored of their own task and were like 'duck it, we'll give them some cocktails instead'. They clearly originally had it in mind for one person to win.

Jenkin should not have got some of his clothes back so easy - I bet he'll get hot water again in less than a week.
