I found the way she worded her questions really crass, so I don't think there was anything particularly progressive about that conversation. It felt intrusive to ask what genitalia she has after three days.

Really? I think she was curious and asked the questions outright. These things shouldn't be shied away from and treated in such a taboo way.
Open, honest conversations of this manner are progressive and important. The way that Hallie handled the questions was respectful and to the point.

I’m in two minds about this ! I’m mum to a 24 year old trans daughter and I would be so weirded out if strangers were asking about her genitalia ! However I understand the curiosity ! I’m trying to think how I would feel if strangers asked me about my genitals . Is it right that trans people are supposed to allow intimate probing ! So to speak . Farida is annoying me so much ! Seems inauthentic. As a Socialist I feel dirty in saying I adore Jordan and to a lesser extent Harry

For me it's nothing to do with maintaining a taboo and everything to do with trying not to make Hallie feel like an "other" in front of the rest of the house. Hallie was clearly uncomfortable and just said she found it frustrating.
