Very unpopular opinion but I honestly don't see what was wrong in how Tom reacted. Yinrun did the exact same thing when she had to nominate Jenkin face to face fake wailing and expecting Jenkin to comfort her. I'd be annoyed if someone nominated me and everyone was comforting them.
