Not necessarily. You can be a teacher by 22 once you’ve done your PGCE. guessing he worked for a few years before leaving. So he could be anywhere from 25 upwards at the time Beth was leaving school.

SORRY I don’t know how to use this site when quoting people lol 🤣 what I meant to say was: you go on the mum’s insta profile you’ll see it’s not the same guy. You can see from this PT guy that it’s the same garden as Beth’s and the PT is the guy in the teacher photo at Brys school - her fiancé is 100% her former history teacher.

I agree. Like somebody said, he’s potentially not that much older than her, and we don’t necessarily know whether they got together after she left. Regardless, getting with a student is questionable at least and definitely wrong if it happened while she was st school. It’d be different if she was Younger obviously, but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Agree about the travel though!

And there’s laws around this, when you’re considered to be in a position of power the age of consent is 18 not 16, I’m not saying that’s what happened but it just feels odd that she is with one of her ex teachers

Agree with both - it’s the sheer lie re solo travel that’s totally disengaged me with her account.

I had a brief scroll back but none of her posts really say solo so I started to think I imagined it but I’m nearly sure her stories or posts at the time heavily referenced single female travel ?

They 100% did! While she may not have actually said it, every post gave the impression of strong independent woman solo travel, and I think this was definitely the impression she was going for too, knowing it wasn’t accurate!

And potentially dangerous...my 22 year old daughter was contemplating travelling solo and I'd even shown her Beth's IG account for inspiration....it was totally irresponsible of her to suggest that her travelling solo was achievable for an average student when in fact she's got a travel companion and getting loads of sponsorship/ freebies
luckily my daughter got a place on foreign exchange to study at Shanghai university , then saved up and went travelling to S America with her boyfriend after graduation and then spent ski season in France...I still think she's been more adventurous than shady Beth!
 
Beth is so so shady and very sly. I am very surprised she hasn't been publicly called out from her travelling solo and it is so irresponsible. It's one thing to hide ads, etc but for something like travel it could have serious repercussions and as some have already mentioned could be dangerous. She seems to get away with everything with it with her "I know better" attitude. She is so misleading and doesn't care.

She definitely seems untouchable with everybody sucking up to her and painting her as such a role model.

She so easily could have said 'i'm travelling with a partner who'd prefer to remain anonymous/off camera' and that would have been absolutely fine. But she went out of her way constantly to make it look as if she were travelling solo which is disingenuous and, as some highlighted above, potentially dangerous for her younger followers.

There are plenty of actually solo travellers on Instagram who do a much better job of showing the reality of it in terms of safety, logistics, budgets etc.
 
Yeah I don’t think she specifically said solo travelling but I remember her saying sometimes she met up with people along the way etc... which made it seem like she was travelling alone. It’s a lie and made me question what other things she isn’t genuine about.

I just don’t think she realised her mistake at the time, because she clearly wanted to hide her boyfriend so much.

I agree. I recommended her to a good friend as she booked a solo trip to India (before COVID) and it made me feel like a right twit after really singing her praises.

They got together after school as in the news article, they talk about a different boyfriend.
 
Whoever guessed that she was getting some things for free for her kitchen - you're correct. It won't surprise me if the appliances come from Curry's as she's just been working with them.

I did recommend her account to a friend’s daughter - what a irresponsible mug I feel encouraging her that she can travel solo with wise decisions & careful planning look at Beth 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
