Last time we went we stayed in (what now is) the SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim. Not terrible but was a different name then so who knows what its deal is. Also did Hotel Indigo, Springhill Suites, Hyatt Regency Orange County (a bit further away) and Anaheim Marriott Suites. All have their pluses and minuses really. Depends on what you're looking for I suppose. For us, it's just a shower and bed and we see very very little of the rest.

Provost Park Pass just uploaded a tour of that hotel today.

If you don’t mind me asking any recommendations for hotels in the area?
TROPICANA. Lol it’s no frills but always clean, affordable and literally STEPS from the entrance. No bfast but cafe on site. We just stayed at the HOJO down the street and we really loved it! So retro but nice! (We stayed in the new tower and my parents in the old) and we loved both rooms. If you don’t mind walking a little father (we do lol) Spring Hill suites was great, Peacock suites is great and Residence inn is GREAT! (We went before covid tho and they have THE BEST bfast). Desert Inn and suites is close but they are BARE BONES and very basic bfast. We’ve stayed at Grand Legacy and people love it but we really didn’t. We were in the back building and it was dirty and LOUD.

It’s been a while, but Candy Cane was decent. Don’t know about now…
I’ve stayed at the Anaheim Hotel a few times too and have enjoyed it. There’s a pizza place there that also serves complimentary breakfast in the morning.
I think candy cane may be closed still for refurb!

Just to add, I’m a parent and when I’m at Disney, IM IMMERSED. I’m not driving or cooking for a week. So I will only get hotels that are an EASY walk. Because I’m a single parent w kids too. Easy walk means that I’ll pay more for being within 5min so we can go back to the hotel as needed. Even tho I’ve stayed at Springfield and residence inn, they’re too far away for me now!

Oh I am glad I'm not the only one that has had a kid do that. We waited in a 30 minute line to meet Mickey. Then the only pic I got was my blurry son running away, haha.
My 2.5 yr old nephew did that so I'm laughing so hard! My sis told me he wanted to meet Mickey before getting to the parks, then once there, he wanted nothing to do with him! Lol..

(y) I might have to watch it despite not being big on the guy. From what I can recall it wasn't a terrible hotel. Decent enough walk to get the blood going but not so far that I complained walking back from all day at the park. The room we stayed in was freshly redone which is why the name change confuses me.

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's definitely been updated even since I was there. The room is EXACT to what we had (in fact I'm positive it's the same space just a couple floors down from ours because I remember the view was meh) but the color theme and walls were different. So yeah... would recommend it to the person asking. Breakfast at the time included if I remember.
