How much say does the captain get in regards to who they hire? I assumed it was a case of the Production team saying "here's a bunch of interesting people" and them having to pick from that, for entertainment value.

I was hugely pro-Sandy until I started to read these threads and realise I'd been overlooking her shittier attitude/actions because I was caught up in her being a kick-ass female captain in a male dominated profession (I still think the latter but can also see her flaws now)

Aesha is annoying, crass, and so inappropriate towards her subordinates on nights out. And as for the other two stews , one won't last. I forget their names, Stew 3 plays with fire and doesn't like the consequences. Stew 2 has a pole stuck up her arse and thinks she is so much better then others.
