He’s been given another hour.
I watched some of the TV coverage earlier and liked some of the historians/authors they interviewed where I learned something I didn’t know.
Good that RE has been able to draw out some different points. I've had enough of the topic generally so listened to music while on a brisk walk.

It is terrible. I am still shocked to see people leave their dogs tied up outside when they go in to a shop.

My OH was yelled at by a woman when he came out of a supermarket a while back, he stopped to put his earbuds in and while doing so looked down at a little Maltese that was tied up outside when a woman who'd been waiting yelled at him for leaving his dog tied up outside, he should be ashamed etc. She was of course embarrassed when he explained it wasn't his dog but he let her know he thought she was doing a good thing but should be careful as the owner might not take kindly to being approached in that way.
It's pretty unbelievable the amount of people thinking this is ok. There is enough publicity now.

Radio 1 was a bit awkward earlier with two of the presenters saying something along the lines of 'we hope everyone is doing okay' regarding the death

I understand remaining respectful, and I think the playlist before 2 PM was a lot better than the sad instrumentals they were playing yesterday, but also... just a bit over the top?

Haven’t been listening to Radio 1. I do think the BBC are mostly winging it except for certain programmes that are on Radio 4. This is also apparently a rehearsal for when the Queen dies, but they aren’t going to admit that.

The presenter in BBC Radio London, Claira Hermet keeps calling Princess Eugenie, Prince Eugene. She’s done it twice so far and I’ve not been listening the whole way through. Why would the producers not notice?

Jason Rossi had an earlier ‘new’ programme from 1800 -2200 and he kept saying Good Morning to everyone he normally does a 5 am programme.

Hmm, that was Jason Rosam, not Rossi above.

Noticed that Liz Kershaw has lost her Saturday 6Music slot in the last few weeks and is now doing a 1 hour interview slot on Sunday. She said she’s doing it from home as prerecorded shows aren’t allowed to be done at Broadcasting House. Can’t say I listened to her programme much, only on the odd occasion I was going through stations in a fit of boredom. Must be a big blow though, after so many years.

BBC London newsreader Matthew Schofield always sounds like he’s spitting a mouth full of saliva. He must be drenching the microphone. Urgh.

Tried to listen on the Sounds App to Robert Elms programme 4 hr show from today. It split at noon to sport while being transmitted and it was the same in the App. I do hope they haven’t lost the last 2 hours. Someone made a big, huuuge, mistake. There was an interesting interview in the first part with an author who wrote about the Eighties. I would like to get the book. Shame they had Rob wots his face ‘reporting’ from Buckingham Palace for no apparent reason.

What does Jordan North have to do to get a regular daytime weekday slot? He should have replaced Clara but then the schedule would be too white for the Beeb.

Jordan would be brilliant in that slot, his Fri-Sun shows are one of my favourites. I love Clara and will really enjoy her later on but I cannot stand the Ricky, Melvin and Charlie gang. I often listen mid morning so I'll probably move over to Radio 2 once Greg finishes, although I also can't abide Jeremy Vine so I'll need to do some hopping about to find non irritating presenters. I love the music of Absolute 90s but hate the adverts so puts me off listening for long.

On BBC Radio London today Jo Good presented a segment speaking about eating disorders and spoke to a representative of BEAT a charity supporting those with EDs.

Not long after, on a regular segment called Radio Rewind (where they play a radio clip recorded this day years ago) they played out an interview from 30 years ago with an actor who played Billy Bunter, described as a "fat" "greedy" schoolboy. The actor later declared the role "undignified" when explaining he had a chubby face but had to wear padding for the role.

The lack of sensitivity in scheduling this is all the more shocking when we know Jo Good has mentioned she has experienced disordered eating. She returned to air cackling, saying she was listening to the clip away from her microphone and had to rush back, with no mention or apology that the old recording contained terms that might trigger those affected by the earlier discussion.

It was on at 4.08pm. This needs to be reported to the BBC.

Eddie Nestor is speaking to ‘Dame’ Bibi Lynch about the Noel Clarke situation. She’s a good friend of Jo Good,

Unfortunately, as I was on the phone, I missed the Radio Rewind part and only heard the bit where she was cackling. She seems to be away from her microphone a lot recently. I did hear a lot of the eating disorders discussion.
Have you reported it?

Sangita Myska filling in for Vanessa Feltz and being irritating plus annoying music being played. Andrew Castle filling in for Nick Ferrari - no! I’ve gone to the Today programme. Spent a lot of yesterday listening to the soothing World Service.

The WorldService is excellent isn't it, some programmes do get repeated but if you want to hear what's happening around the globe their NewsHour is great.

Yes, it really is. I once bought a radio from Curry’s about 20 years ago and took it on holiday to Greece and couldn’t get the World Service which is the reason I had bought it in the first place. I returned it to the shop when I got back.

Claira Hermet sitting in for Jo Good on BBC Radio London is hard to listen to, the stiff way she reads out a topic is like she's giving out homework. Obviously never heard of Anya Hindmarch either.

Not a fan, so have been dipping in and out. She definitely isn’t an easy listen. I prefer Salma. They should get Liz Kershaw in as she must be at a loose end. 😬

Still no MAM from Friday in Sounds.
