Ok off topic sorry but I noticed that Gemma from the we don’t have time for this podcast has switched off her DM function. You now have to invite her to chat with you. It’s actually made me so annoyed. She’s said in the past on the podcast she loves being contacted via DM and now it appears to be exclusivity only. Definitely getting big for her boots.
I've sent her a couple of DMs in the past, when the podcast first started, asking about specific things and they've always gone read but not replied. I'm not saying all influencers have to respond but most even do the bare minimum of a reaction or even just a thumbs up. Definitely agree with them both becoming too big for their boots. I used to have more time for Kate from the podcast but their blatent privelige is just too cringe now. I'm stopped listening because it's just Gemma whinging about how busy she is or bragging about her standard children and then trying to justify it all because they "work so hard". I had to just shake my head and laugh at a recent story she had where both her kids were having a tantrum and all she could do was tell her au pair to take one to daycare, and she would deal with the other. That isn't real life! Vent over, haha.

So disappointing! Their whole schtik is about being relateable mums and they can’t even be bothered to respond? For instance, Eleanor Pendleton ALWAYS responds me. If she has nothing to say back she always ‘hearts’ my comment and she is way bigger and more respected than Gemma. Even Gemma’s photography class is a pre recorded course - doesn’t sound that tough to upload modules & I bet the content is just re used for the next group of people.

Gemma has always replied to me in the past, quite quickly as well so that surprises me. I went and checked and I can still DM her, I wonder if she changed her settings?

Agree though that the danger with their podcast was always that they would run out of relatable content and become a bit too programmed, definitely think that's happened here. I'm still listening though 🤣

Are they still doing their live shows? Or did they stop talking about it?
I’ve not heard mention of it again! Which suggests (as we all suspected!!🤣🤣) there was/is absolutely ZERO interest from anyone for live shows from them!!!

The absolute BEGGING for new subscribers to their paid content is so desperate and embarrassing!! #cringesweats!!
Lol also, how funny were they “pretending” to be offended by that article calling them
✨⭐iNfLuEnCeRs⭐✨
“actually we’re NOT influencers. We’re journalists 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️
…..as IF they wouldn’t (and don’t!) jump at the chance for #spon/ad/gifted/paidpartnerships 🤦🏼‍♀️

They’d do so much better if there was some diversity amongst them, but they’re literally identical (pardon the pun). Same life stages, same careers, same boyfriend to fiancé to wedding stages. Same travel experiences. Same limited world views. So bland.

Oops, I forgot one of them has blonde hair.
Yes absolutely to aaaall of this!!
Loool …✨⭐️uMmMm AcTuALLy, We’Re aLL rEaLLy DiFfErEnT!!⭐✨ …one of us has blonde hair, one has looooong brown hair and the other one has short brown hair 💁‍♀️ 🥴🥴

Hahaha they are bored.

They ditched the ‘in conversation’ or whatever it was called because they weren’t feeling it (hated it) and are getting a bit bored of the podcast. They want more revenue and also want to travel more. Good luck getting in with all the lit luvvies there.

Their new book is such a money grab. ‘It’s going to be a coffee table book’ yer ok.

I thought the same about their book! Literally just republishing columns (mainly written by other writers?). But the “yasss queens” crowd will still gobble it up.

I get the impression they’re making a huge amount of money but I’m not sure why tbh. The podcast is boring, and they are very safe in their opinions. Idk whether Australians care much for UK influencers and beyond doing that for three weeks so they just go back to doing the same thing again?

I do really enjoy Shameless, it's a fun easy listen in my podcast feed. I do find the new book a bit pointless though, I subscribed and then unsubscribed from their newsletter as I found it boring, and "agony aunt" type content is not want I'm looking for in a pop culture podcast - the two don't really go together?

I think they're trying to do too much at the moment - bringing back in conversation, new book, giving the book reviews it's own podcast. The first episode of the book podcast was a bit flat too, Eilis sounded like she reading directly from a script instead of telling a story.

I agree with you- the original podcast is an easy listen but I have no interest in their sponsored recommendations (visit Canberra!!!).
They are expanding and moving to a larger office so they must be making a decent profit
