Hey Ash, instead of dragging your baby and toddler out and about to events that are overwhelming for them and clash with nap times, on the few days that they’re at home with you and likely need some quality time and to decompress, here are some ideas:
- bake and decorate Christmas cookies. Egg will go everywhere, sprinkles will be eaten, it’s all ok.
- make Christmas cards with finger paints and stickers. Just get a wipe clean table cloth and let them get creative.
- go for a long slow walk where you just splash in puddles and talk about bleeping leaves.
- get some fake snow balls and chase Alf round the house having a snowball fight. He needs the running practice but… careful near the stairs.
- make Christmas tree decorations with salt dough and/or lollipop sticks. You will need to allow them in the front room to hang them though.
