Scooter Braun is a twit, I mean, who even calls themself “Scooter”? He only cares about making money.

I’m totally out of place here , too old to care about Ariana but had to comment about Scooter. Isn’t he the bloke who tried to make Cruz Beckham a pop star with some random Christmas song? 😁😁.

Cruz Beckham!!, Cruz Beckham 😁😁 Talk about it’s who you know , not what you know .
I’ll get me coat and leave now , as you were.

The clips were pretty uncomfortable, espically the running off stage.

There's been reports right from the start that she's struggling with it all and she must be halfway through by now.

The tour was all underway while she was still engaged and all that, I think she'll have been pressured to not cancel it and decided not to as it does give jobs to hundreds of people and hundreds of thousands of people want to see it.

I just don't understand how any smart person would have allowed a young woman, struggling with the PTSD from the Manchester attack, plus the grief for an ex partner, plus the mess from the broken-off engagement (if I remember correctly?) to embark on a big tour instead of taking a beat. Even if they don't give a crap about the person, it's bad business sense to work a performer to the bone like that, surely?
I'm not her demographic but somehow I keep getting drawn to this thread :P

I think they just see it as being smart in terms of business and think 'oh well they can have a break after this', but then where do you draw the line? I remember Avicii's people were basically like that too - he was clearly struggling and had no one looking out for his mental health; only seeing him as a money-making machine. :( I also think managers must be quite manipulative in ways and push the 'you'd be letting the fans down' angle.

I don’t know much about Scooter but Ariana doesn’t seem like the kind of artist that does anything she doesn’t want to do...?

I do think she’s pushed herself to hard and it shows. She’s constantly crying during TUN at the Malcolm line. And has talked on twitter about how being on tour is too hard and she’s not enjoying it - then she says she’s having the time of her life & adding more dates. It’s all a bit erratic imo and I just wish she’d deal with stuff out of the public eye.

That's true but I also wonder how much contracts and things play into it - especially with the whole Britney Spears thing going on at the moment. Like sometimes with record labels, you're obligated to do x amount of albums before you can leave or something.

I think she did say a while back she was getting therapy but performing songs that are bringing up memories obviously can't be helping. I also think her online persona doesn't help - I noticed a lot during promo for TUN that she kind of took on this whole ~relatable, almost meme-esque? persona where she was tweeting constantly, and it was all stuff that was going viral.

Thought I’d start a thread as we sometimes discuss her on Britney and Taylor’s threads.

What does everyone think of her?

Personally I think her voice is amazing (if not a bit lacking in enunciation!). However I think as a performer, she kind of lacks the star factor and relies too much on her backing dancers/friends. Especially on this tour, she doesn’t really seem to enjoy it and barely speaks to the crowd. I’m also dying to hear her with a live band and not a prerecorded backing track.

Saying that, I think TUN was a brilliant album that I listen to a fair amount.

I think her singing ability is much better than her writing ability. I like a few of her songs but the majority don’t do much for me. Saying that, I do think for the most part Ariana seems really nice. I wonder if going on tour was the right thing to do. She doesn’t seem to be enjoying it, like you said and she looks so sad. I know if I had gone through what she has, I wouldn’t be touring.

This is her apology. To me, it’s not very good. She deleted it anyway, which I don’t agree with (if you mean it, why delete it?) I think the dark humour excuse is exactly that, an excuse. There are a couple of people underneath one of her latest tweets asking for a more sincere apology.

Classic celebrity fake apology.
She’s another one who never actually owns up to anything and just thanks people for making her aware that she sucks 😂

Hope she's OK, scooter can't be happy that they've called off all these lucrative meet and greets. Although £166 doesn't seem too bad considering nick Jonas and demi Lovato were selling packages for thousands.

One thing I don't understand is why she's playing mostly at venus that have 12-5k capacity (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweetener_World_Tour). Taylor swift's reputation tour was playing to stadium that has 50k or 100k and she made way more money for fewer shows - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Swift's_Reputation_Stadium_Tour.

Ariana Grande cancels ALL meet and greets with fans on European leg of her Sweetener World Tour to 'preserve her voice and energy'... amid battle with anxiety and panic attacks
  • The singer, 26, announced the news in an email to fans, with a further statement saying Ariana needed to preserve her 'voice and energy'
  • In the email, it was announced the Meet & Greet Soundcheck party with the Thank U, Next hitmaker had been cancelled, with guests set to be issued partial refunds
  • A statement from Live Nation read: 'Due to the need to preserve her voice and energy, we regret to inform you there will not be a Meet & Greet & Soundcheck party at your show'
  • This comes four days after Ariana pulled out of a meet and greet in Antwerp, Belgium after admitting her anxiety and depression had reached an 'all time high'

If her anxiety and depression have reached an all time high, she needs to go home and recover. If she’s just using them as buzzwords, no sympathy, but I’m convinced the woman needs help after all the trauma she’s been through.

Ariana Grande in a terrible place mentally, Justin Bieber has been there and off his head on drugs.

Common connection, that twit of a manager doing nothing to look after his artists and only focusing on milking them for as much money as he can.

I'm quite excited for the Charlies angels song, even from just 5 seconds I think I'm going to love it :D

He reminds me of Avicci's HORRIBLE manager who said he:" would work Avicci so much, that he will drop dead." Cruel, disgusting, greedy people. It was on the Avicci documentary on Netflix which is a really hard watch.
