I just came back from seeing Wicked. I can’t believe I left the cinema in tears. Both Cynthia and Ariana deliver great performances.

In the film Cynthia displays raw emotions, and whenever she cried I bloody cried. She bewitched me.

It's sad seeing what she used to look like compared to now. If she's found dead within the next year it wouldn't shock anyone and just like Liam Payne we will be talking about how little those around her did to help.

What has Ariana done to her skin? Is it that she no longer fake tan and her eye brows are a paler colour? It’s awful and doesn’t suit it

I haven't seen the film yet, but from the stills and clips I've seen, both women look so badly suited for their roles. Every picture I've seen, Cynthia looks like a stern, middle aged woman, trying to look profound and dignified, as if she's posing for her biography cover.
Elphaba is awkward, emotionally disregulated, and is the victim of a plot of more powerful people. Her actress needs a sense of humour and the ability to show emotion and uncertainty.
Ariana looks like her whole brief was "be beautiful". She pulls faces like a mix of blow up doll and Ballerina Barbie. She never looks like she is feeling a real emotion, or in the moment
She looks like she's just thinking about how beautiful she is. Not to mention, her style is all wrong: she looks modern, like an IG influencer, in a way that will look dated in 5 years. Galinda should look fairytale, not 2024.
Both of them look like they make it all about them, rather than be real actors and put the character first.

That article's author is doing a fabulous job of dodging England's crazy libel laws. Not a single mention of anorexia, orthorexia, or eating disorders. But sure, she is on a "diet." She is a "restrictive vegan." She "may" have "some sort of mental health issue." Perhaps she is "stressed."
BTW, it's very weird to me that people are speculating Ozempic with these two.

I must say I seen the film today and I thought it was spectacular. The press tour/all the crying was baffling to me but I cried throughout the film and especially towards the end.
I'm watching Graham Norton, and as Nicole Kidman is announced and is about to have her famous walk up the stairs... Cynthia Erivo jumps up to escort Nicole & completely blocks her from the audience, stopping her from having her "reveal" moment.
I'd understand if Nicole tripped or had huge shoes on, but she didn't...

From the trailers I thought the film looked like a big steamy pile of tit, but after seeing it I was so wrong. They made Cynthia look much younger and believe me, she shows both emotion and uncertainty. When the tears fall from her eyes boy do you feel her pain. And as for Ariana, she knocks it out of the park. Felt her pain too when she was crying at the end. Both did a fantastic job in my opinion.
