First time poster here.
Anna Bey was a suggestion on my youtube feed a few months ago and I found what she was promoting extremely harmful.
I don’t buy that she is part of high society (however that is defined) especially if we are talking about „european-old-money“. It’s a very exclusive cycle and definitely not easy to enter. Education is still highly valued amongst the older generation of old money families but of course we’re talking about individuals and not a heterogenous mass so this might vary and there’s a black sheep in every family.
I’ve been to university with students from rich (and not-so-rich-anymore) old money families (because my university is quite known for being popular amongst old money) and not a single one of them behaved like Anna in any way. Most of them were quite normal people trying to figure out what to do with their lives. (of course a few snobs are always around but that’s definitely not the norm).
I come from an upper middle class family and we are not part of high society nor was I raised to pretend I was part of it but my hobbies and interests come close to what Anna considers to be elegant hobbies so I find it kind of strange that everything she does (riding, interest in art etc.) is halfway done. I don’t see a reason for her not to own a horse ( almost all stables at least in Germany, Austria and Switzerland offer an all-inclusive service and even people who gymnasticate the horses if you’re not around or if you don’t have the knowledge/skills to do so properly). I see that it is expensive but if you are part of high society and upper class that shouldn’t be a big deal financially.
The second thing I found utterly confusing is her blog. I’m neither a native english speaker nor am I talented in writing so I can’t really criticize anyone when it comes to the english language but everything on this blog makes me cringe. The pictures used are not only bad quality but also scream cheap. Not to mention the content. It totally contradicts everything she says in her videos to an extend that it’s almost funny. I don’t understand why she agrees to publish these blog posts as they harm her brand even more than her videos and her persona do.
What I also find highly problematic is her lack of education and that she doesn’t seem to have an issue with it. There are very interesting studies on leveling up and education was a very important factor that made the difference between generations of poverty/wealth. Leveling up is difficult and I think what she is selling is not only nonsense but can also be very harmful to vulnerable women from poorer countries. Another thing that doesn't make sense to me is the lack of french or german spekaing skills.
Her approach is also very Eurocentric and it doesn’t really make sense to promote this to an international audience as the European high society is, from what I know, not the most tolerant one.
My mother grew up in Genève and she still has friends and family there and some of them might be considered "upper class" and the imagination of them hanging out with Anna is just ridiculous. I can't put my finger on what it is but something about Anna just screams gold digger.

A brief digression on the Arab topic:
I’m very interested in the middle east and middle eastern cultures and there definitely isn’t a one size fits all approach to understanding the values, the culture etc. of the Near and middle east. Especially when it comes to the gulf states the differences couldn’t be bigger within the society. There are certain „family/clan names“ that might already be an indicator of education and background. To compare a christian men from Libnan to Saudi/Kuwaiti or Qatari men on a cultural level is just ignorant and doesn’t do justice to these rich and beautiful cultures but of course I understand the point where you guys are coming from.

So, this morning I took the opportunity of a walk in the park of Bastions, trying to figure out where is the statue pedestal behind her on the photo where she is glued in a black dress to the wall of the University of Geneva with the legend "Library". I don't see anywhere else than the University Library, other libraries in Geneva have not this architecture and they are too confidential, you must know there is a library in the building. There was no pedestal. But coming out of the park there it was : it is the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the pedestal is there. It is not the University!
Now, you see me coming : it seems this woman mistook the Grand Théâtre buildind with a Library building! . How is it possible? Oh I know, the same way she discovered canals in Venice and the "Lido Beach".

I think Anna has been deleting comments on the video because there is less hate than I thought there would be. Because the like ratio on this video is lower than usual 89% instead of 97% percent on most videos.

I KNOW people had a problem with the video topic because Anna merely posted the link to the Elegant Ladies Lounge Facebook group, and "ellyghant laydies" were tearing Meghan apart without even having watched the video. Some were like, "I'm not watching this video," even though Meghan had (arguably) one of the greatest level ups of all time (As in, she came from one of the most humble backgrounds ever and ascended into one of the most powerful institutions ever).

The Elegant Ladies were like, "I do not like her," and when asked why, they'd be like, "I don't have to explain myself."

I would like to emphasize that Meghan Markle doesn’t come from a humble background.Her Dad was the lighting director of major US TV shows .He made a 6 figure income and was highly regarded in his field .In addition he won $750000 in the lottery when Meghan was 9 .This is the equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,566, 581 .87 in today’s money .
Meghan attended private schools from the age of 10 till 23.Her Dad spent around $500000 in tuition fees ! I guess , the definition of humbleness can be subjective.
The only dirt-poor child I can think of , who managed to marry the heir of one of the wealthiest man in the world is Natalia Vodianova.
Anna Bey lies about the reality of upward social mobility. It is getting harder and harder for women born in low-income families to move upwards and it is almost impossible without a college degrees or a recognized qualification.Vodianova had to get a degree from a prestigious business school ( INSEAD) before Antoine Arnault decided to marry her ! Well , I don’t think Anna’s students will be equipped to “bag” a French or a German multi-millionaire /billionaire .They want what Anna is not teaching .

I agree that MM is not of humble origins but still she is a massive success in social climbing (and her education and allowance for tuition is something I could only dream off!). I know almost nothing about Natalia Vodianova - I have seen only one interview with her and it was obvious that she must have a good education. She spoke english with a french accent, thus I assume her french must be very high level, and she was not French born. Pluss I think she was already with some millions in her account before getting married to Antoine Arnault. The girl was actually working! This woman is someone to look up and learn from if thus tumble weeded brains want to marry a billionaire.

Unbelievable that some people actually believe that Anna Bey’s channel is one of the best one’s you can find on the internet.

How deprived. It sadly says more about them (and what they lack / what they were not given growing up) than her.

All it takes is being a little tiny bit resourceful (do a little bit of research) and find other sources (books, articles, FB groups, in person interactions) to receive so much more VALUE than whatever carrot Anna is dangling in front of them.

I definitely don’t blame the women that follow her... because the degree of separation between when you’re enamored by her and when you actually see the light is not that much. All it takes is one tiny moment/ situation to happen for the SPELL TO BREAK... and their eyes will be opened to how Anna’s life does NOT make sense (aka is a HUGE CONTRADICTION).

What's going on in her head? This is madness. Lying like that without any valid reason. Maybe she imagines herself spotted by a modeling agency in need for a 1.80m blond woman, searching on Instagram for the future Claudia Schiffer.

Probably I shall stumble on her very soon in Geneva. It would be the Law of attraction at work since I am always in her thoughts and Bastine has a magnetic charisma ☺ with all the crazy people out there in town.
