Amy Winehouse

I can't say I've dug deep on the family and am not a huge fan of the music, but any time I saw Janis interviewed I thought she seemed nice. Mitch, I didn't like.

Am I naive in thinking Janis was a decent woman?
I think so. Janis comes across really well in any interviews and in her book but I think she was maybe a bit naive to Amy’s exploits. She was also battling ill health herself so probably put her trust, unwisely, in Mitch.

Just had another look through and seen that the sale of the infamous blood-stained ballet pumps - and several other pairs - were "from the collection of Catriona Gourlay". Classy. But yeah, I'm sure Amy gave those to her as a nice little gift.

Naomi Parry also sold some tattered ballet pumps, an old MAC lipstick, and a dried out Rimmel eyeliner - "from the collection of Naomi Parry". No doubt there's plenty more but that confirms a few of the 156 items.

These people disgust me, possibly even more than Mitch. "Close friends" my arse.

Jesus h. My heart stopped looking at those listings. How macabre and distasteful, I can’t believe they were kept, let alone people paying thousands for them. They are tragic items and look exactly how her lifestyle seemed when she was at rock bottom.
I will watch the film when it comes on the telly. I love bob marley but still haven’t watched the film.
I would rather have the reality of their lives any day. The sanitised versions are pointless.
And I don’t like that creepy sam woman, I didn’t realise she’s the director until reading here

From the little I've seen of her, she seemed a rather quiet conservative type of woman (nowt wrong with that) and yes I can see how that type of person could be naive re certain things. She seemed to have zero interest in being famous or in the trappings of celebrity, unlike Mitch who seemed to bask in the limelight.

I recently had a London cabbie who was very much like Mitch. He spent the whole journey bragging about his daughter’s career, stardom, followers etc and then later on brought in another daughter to the conversation. It seems like he and his wife spend their whole lives chasing the limelight for their kids and the conversation with him was completely one sided, he didn’t want my input at all. Really reminded me of Amy’s dad

Parents who live vicariously through their children are embarrassing at best and toxic at worst.

Wow! Today's Sunday Mirror:

Both the selling and the buying is weird.

I can understand why something like handwritten lyrics or something signed would of interest to a collector/fan, Hell even an unworn pair of her shoes if you were interested in her fashion! But this is just macabre.

I would have thought that they would sell for a lot more.

It is macabre, but it is a piece of music history and almost a symbol of Amy's struggle.

Unless there weren't that many bids as most people considered the auction to be in poor taste and would only buy items that were formally auctioned and/or the items were believed to be fake.

On a lighter note..! Just seen this magazine cover with Mitch 😂🤣

Yeah that magazine cover says September 2013, so only a couple of years after her death.

I watched the biopic at the weekend and wasn’t expecting much, but I really enjoyed it. I thought Marisa did a great job playing Amy.
