I understand why she is so reluctant to share her Jewish background so I won’t get into that (although I think it’s a shame and it’s now 2023, no one really cares) but to purposely not mention it and then identify as an Arab girl one day, Persian the next…. Maybe she’s Indian at the weekends. It’s so bizarre. She will never specify WHICH Arab country either… as if it’s something to be ashamed of. Just say you’re Iraqi-Jew for god sake!!!

I do find it sad she is so happy to claim so many cultures, but dance around her Judaism. While I can fully understand not wanting to deal with anti-Semitism, it comes off as if she's ashamed, and that just really sucks.
She also could actually have some interesting insights if she spoke about it - most Europeans and Americans only really have exposure to Ashkenazi Jews through pop culture, so her viewers may have no clue about any cultural differences her family, as Sephardic Jews, have. Hell, some of her viewers may not realise Judaism isn't a monolith.

Indeed she was mentioning in some video long time ago that even though her family is religious she is not a believer and her family is ok with it.
I think she joins her family/friends celebrations more for the social aspect of it/family time.
I honestly dont see any problem with it or why should she explain herself on these matters..

Speaking as someone who has some ethopian Jewish heritage as well as having Moroccan sephardi friends, I do think too much focus is given to Ashkenazi Judaism to the detriment of other denominations as well as allowing for misinformation/ antisemitism to spread in the media. But that's a conversation for another day

I would imagine amelia is mizrahi jew since she's middle eastern (hard to pin down where exactly which countries she's claiming from day to day)
