Mum had to go to hospital about 3 weeks ago, and the whole tit hit the fan in a good way leaving her waiting to go into respite and then permanent care, and me actually being free of her narc abuse for the first time ever! Finances and housing are still very much up in the air, but the fur baby and I will be spending the Christmas period in peace, probably broke but safe and happy. Thanks to everyone here who gave me support and made me laugh like a sieve. You made what was almost unbearable tolerable. ❤
Speaking of which, @Ally Pally MALICE is going to HATE that thread title!I wonder if she'll pack the kids off to friends and wear her wedding dress roleplaying their wedding on YoBee's big day? Or just spam SM with her own wedding pics? Poor Alice, she's yet to realise that when you're out of a narc's abuse circle, their behaviour is just so embarrassingly ridiculous.

Me and the husband (recently married after crappy things happened and I put them behind me and got on with my life) are watching a cheesy Christmas romance every night. The one tonight had a really lovely actress who did it very well. So I decided to check out The Christmas Card again. Jesus's christ, she is truly bloody awful. How she thinks she 'gave up' a 'career' is truly beyond me. Anyway I'm a very occasional poster but avid reader so Merry Christmas & best wishes to all of you. And to all with struggles I hope the other side comes bright and soon x

this is what I don’t understand though. She has her kids 100% of the time. And? They go to school all day. They’re old enough not to need her with them 24/7. Does she really think all single parents with full custody don’t have to work because they have kids???? Her argument makes no sense to me. Single parents work, Alice. You alienated the kids so you’d get them 100% of the time … it doesn’t mean you get to sit home all day while they’re at school and not help contribute. Your cons are a great source of income. Keep doing them while you have a more reliable job. Use your skills outside of acting to help and actually show your girls that you’re self sufficient. Stop using them as an excuse. Be the role model they deserve.

When they are not screaming about how traumatic it was for their perfect life to be destroyed by their husband leaving they are accusing him of being a monster. I mean how did this monster give them a perfect life ?
Then it is how the dastardly ex forced them to sacrifice their amazing career. But never quite explain why they don’t work when they no longer have that obstacle- because he is out of their lives. Instead it is a complete impossibility to work.
I get that careers do take a hit due to pregnancy and the early years. This is an unfairness and inequity for all women who don’t have a nanny or two. But it doesn’t stop you working for ever unless you have a kid with extra needs. Even then I have known mothers keep on working. These are choices.
Having just said that I fully expect Alice to now declare how she has to be home because of the babies special needs.

Not to mention the burden the kids have. Now, when Gloria and Ioan are gone, they are forced to look after her, do all the domestic chores, basically have to act as her servants and companions while being subjected to her outbursts and erratic behaviour, having to tread on eggshells and made feel responsible for her. No wonder they look haunted.
They might be better off at foster care... (Although there is a share of horror stories of these).
I wish they had strength to see that the situation is not normal in any way and turn to child protective services. But even if they were able to see how abusive and abnormal it is, they cannot due to the threats mAlice has made over the years to unaliven herself. The weight of the burden they have to carry.

One of my sisters kids has asperges, it didn't stop her from working, because she had too, before his diagnosis it was incredibly hard for her, but she still worked, multiple jobs, and has done various degrees. She struggled for a good 20 yrs, but it's paid off now, I thought my work ethic was good, but she's on another level! I'm not saying that just because she's my sister either. She's 52, and has 4 kids, and was a single parent, getting CP, but not enough, so she worked as well, 3 jobs at one point. The kids still see there father, apart from the oldest one who has a different dad, he has a horrible car crash when she was pregnant, and was in a coma for about 12 yrs, he passed away about 3 years after he came out of the coma.
I totally get your point, if you have a child that needs 24hr care, then yes you do have to stay at home, but carers often still work, as the benefits they get, just aren't enough.
None of us partially want to work, but we have too
. I'm surprised she's not tried to pull that card already to be honest!
