He is standing on something to make himself appear taller. The gentlemen's whatever should have been rectangular shaped as not to take up so much room. They learned nothing from Lydiot's dressing room. Having a big square table takes up too much space and makes photo taking more difficult. Also, I see 3 different colors of wood in that tiny space. Well actually 4 different colors because the cheval mirror looks to be stained mahogany or cherry.
