Alan Partridge recommendations.

For any Partridge fans, check out the ”Accidental Partridge“ Twitter account!

(my favourite ever AP moment was from Richard Madley (who else!), who said that he was “not sure about this European idea of wearing shoes without socks, because then where would you wipe your hands when you‘re eating crips?“

Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like the “beautiful lady’s” deadpan double take.

I’m Alan Partridge is peak Partridge for me.

God I miss comedy like this. I went away with work the other year and the hotel room had a Corby trouser press and I made an Alan Partridge reference- my young colleagues just looked at me weird

Someone at work made a comment about cheese and I automatically said “smell my cheese you mother” before I’d thought about where I was/who I was talking to. I quickly explained it was from a TV show but I don’t think they were convinced!

haha a girl got reported in work for saying merry xmas you filthy animal- girl was young and foreign and didn’t know Home Alone!

This is my kind of thread!!! My absolute favourite show and favourite comedy character. If you want to really start with the origins then watch The Day Today. It’s a satirical news comedy created by Chris Morris and was the first time the character was introduced to a tv format. (Started on the radio)

Knowing Me Knowing You is Alan’s first solo show and gives you a lot of ground for the character when you then go onto watch I’m Alan Partridge. Knowing Me Knowing You also has some amazing supporting performances from Rebecca Front and Patrick Marber which is a bonus!

Im Alan Partridge is probably the most accessible and the most well known and quoted.

I would personally say that the Sky series Mid Morning Matters are one of my favourites. They are completely set within the radio studio but the writing is absolutely top notch!!

I loved the film Alpha Papa some people didn’t but I thought it was absolutely the perfect Alan film.

There’s so much to dig into, audiobooks, podcasts, sky specials.
