Sorry Beth from Little Women and general group rules but it has to be Charlotte ‘no one was with her when she died’ from Charlotte’s web, which destroyed me as a kid and destroyed me again thirty years later. Not a problem, only I was reading it aloud to Yr4 as I covered the class for a colleague off poorly. It was messy. Apparently it took E.B. Benson 17 takes to get through it when he recorded the audio version of his book. Well, maybe you should’ve written it differently, you genius bastard. And don’t get me started on War Horse.

I thought the “prequel” last year with Timothée Chamallammahehey (sp?) was utterly charming. My favourite of the year. You could imagine him growing up to be the mecurial Gene Wilder Wonka.

I must be the only one that didn’t like The Shawshank Redemption. The film is in itself is very good, and beautifully-acted, but I hate it as an adaptation.

As for screen deaths, not a film but I’m still annoyed by Ianto’s death in Torchwood! 😂

I will never ever get over the death of Enzo in The Vampire Diaries
