ResortTV1
ResortTV1 (RTV1) is a YouTube channel that live streams from the various parks around Walt Disney World, which is only Epcot and Magic Kingdom 85% of the time.
Operated by a brother and sister (and sometimes, Mom and Dad, or as Josh’s wife calls them - the other family), initially, they streamed on Friday nights. But as Josh saw the money flowing, he pushed to livestream almost every other day.
Nothing exciting really happens unless you want to see a grown woman squeal over Stitch or watch a narcissistic man get into petty arguments with other park guests. If you love endless rides on the PeopleMover, this is probably the channel for you.
Disney’s Prohibited Activities
Disney does state on its
website that certain activities are prohibited on property, including:
- The sale of goods or services, or the display of goods or services, unless prior written approval has been obtained.
- Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity, for unapproved commercial purposes.
Commercial use means anything used for financial gain.
Time and time again, RTV1 has been on Disney property promoting sponsors, accepting cash, and taking PayPals for their own commercial purposes. Josh has even claimed that live-streaming is his second job.
Cast of Characters
Let’s get to know the team behind this grift.
Josh - Master Grifter
Quick Facts:
- Originally from Indiana, he moved the family down to Florida in 2018
- Works as a band director, but apparently, his role is an administrative one.
- Had a suspected “heart attack” while driving to Epcot and continued to walk through the parking lots, security check, and touchpoints before seeking medical attention from first aid.
- Has an ego bigger than Spaceship Earth
- On a quest to stop copyright holders from claiming revenue on his stream even though he uses Disney IP to make money.
One-half of the ResortTV1 team, Josh, moved to Florida in 2018 with his wife, Stef. At first, his channel started out with video captures of the TV channels at WDW, but he quickly focused on live streaming because he could make money on it.
At first, Josh and his sister-wife (Jenna) would take viewers to the parks to get a live look at WDW. As the channel grew, so did Josh’s ego. He is constantly focused on being first and number #1 but fails to deliver interesting content besides walking around the parks.
He will remind viewers that “
Disney approves of what we’re doing,” despite taking cash in the parks, shilling for sponsors, and using Cast Members for their perks. In Josh’s mind, he’s never wrong; it is always the other person.
Over the years, Josh has burned bridges with numerous people in the community. He is hyper-focused on other streamers, like Ron on the Go’s constant live look at channel numbers.
Josh is a band director for a prestigious school near the parks. He claims to be a family man, but most of his free time is spent riding the PeopleMover, consuming Cokes and cookies, pumping up his ego, and collecting SuperChats and PayPals from super stans (i.e., Nita).
While streaming, Josh constantly mentions that he has no money even though he purchases old retro computer equipment and multiple extra-ticketed events for WDW.
Recently, Josh had an all-day ride-every-ride challenge. Since he didn’t plan, he failed. But Josh still claims he won after changing the rules multiple times and leaving out certain rides.
Josh likes to proclaim his channel as the media darling of WDW, even though he was left off the media invite list for the opening of Communicore Hall, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the Country Bears Musical Jamboree.
Jenna - Sister Wife
Quick Facts:
- Once lived in California
- Brags about fitting into child-size clothing
- Claims everything hurts her tummy but will not get a medical diagnosis
Jenna is Josh's sister. Some claim it was her idea to start live streaming, but that has been disputed. At one time, she and her husband Dale lived in California, and Jenna always mentions how Disneyland is better than Disney World. Like her brother, she loves to brag. You have a Loungefly; she has one, too. You dined at Cinderella's Royal Table; she's been to Club 33.
Jenna has a weird obsession with Stitch, or as she calls him, Stitchie. She claims to have anxiety but will push her way through a crowd to paw at merch. Of course, she "neeeeds" everything. At one time, Jenna was employed but found the streaming gravy train too tempting to pass up. Her full-time job is streaming for the channel - that is, if she can fit it into her schedule of hair braiding, drinking Starbucks, and baby-talking to her dog.
Over the years, Jenna has a history of "best friends" and will use them to mooch off "free for me" food, plush animals, tickets, and vacations. Once they get wise to her antics, she has a new bestie.
Jenna is pretty much not self-sufficient, except around Dale. When her elderly parents are in the parks, she turns into Princess Jenna. She can't bother to stand in line or grab silverware; that's what Mom and Dad are for. She will sit at a table while Mom and Dad fetch cake pops, drinks, or napkins in the hot Florida heat. Jenna is currently in the "buy this for me" mode, as she takes her Dad into the shops and points out her favorites, which leads to Dad picking up the item and purchasing it for her.
Dad - WooHoo
While Dad might seem happy go lucky, he is the pack mule of the family and perpetual cash source for these two brats. Josh and Jenna will use him to stand in line for concerts, fetch ice cream or other treats, and run merchandise back to the car…all in the hot and humid weather of Central Florida. It should be noted that their Dad has taken at least two serious falls in the parks, resulting in serious injuries. But that doesn't matter to the Wonder Twins; as long as his credit card hand works, let's head to the parks.
Mom - Child Size Is the Only Size
Mom is the quiet one of the family. She just giggles and mentions how adult-size clothes look "too big." It is suspected that this is where Jenna gets her obsession with fitting into child-sized clothes. When Jenna and her get hungry, they may split a cookie and take the rest home because it's just too much to eat.
Stef - Passive Aggressive Extraordinaire
Stef is the wife to Josh and mother to his son, Liam. She's basically a single mother. Along with RTV1, the happy couple also runs ResortTV1 Homes, another YouTube channel featuring a few live streams. These adventures were a treasure trove of snark as she, Josh, and Liam traveled around Central Florida, sniping at one another throughout their car ride. Stef fancies herself as a blog writer, but we get a glimpse into her control freak ways with each entry. Want to go to a pool party? Better follow her 11 rules of pool safety. When not putting the kibosh on any fun, she's snapping her fingers at Liam like a dog.
Even though she promotes real estate in Florida, she hates the state. She would rather live back in Indiana. Josh mentioned that he sleeps in his office so as not to disturb her.
Dale - Always Looking Surprised
Maybe the most tolerable of the group, Dale, is the husband to Jenna. Until recently, Dale was your typical investment bro until his employer merged companies and cut his hours. He will usually spend time with Cory Meets World. Dale doesn't spend a lot of time on the stream, but he did come to the rescue when a couple of creeper fans insisted on spending time with Jenna when she streamed by herself. He has taken the stream by himself, and when people compliment him, Josh becomes jealous. Since his work hours have been reduced, he spends time golfing, creating Etsy-like Disney crafts, and making videos for the Adventures channel. Jenna likes to use Dale as an excuse not to buy something (I'm on probation) but then will ask Dad to get it for her.
Liam - The Forgotten Child
Liam is the son of Josh. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Josh is too busy in the parks with his "other family" to spend quality time at home. When the little guy does make an appearance and starts to talk, Josh and Stef are quick to shut him down. We hope he becomes a talk show or best-selling author who details his life as a streaming kid and makes millions of dollars, far surpassing his father.
Tank - The Number #1 Nelson
Tank is Liam's dog. Ever the control freak, Stef wouldn't let Liam name his own dog after his favorite Transformer, Bumblebee. Josh complains about being broke but has no problem dropping money on the purebred Goldendoodle. Tank has bit Josh, so obviously the pup doesn’t approve of his conniving ways either.
Friends du Jour - Current Friends of the Stream
- Meyers and the Mouse: Kelly and Ivonne are a husband and wife YouTube channel. Like RTV1, they also stream in the parks. Jenna has latched on them as they pick up the tab for pins, drinks, plushies, dinner, and probably a couple of vacations. They are closer to Jenna and Dale than to Josh. Ivonne will treat Jenna more like her daughter than actual friend because that’s what she expects. One infamous incident happened at Dapper Day, Ivonne bought drinks and a parasol for Jenna. With all that stuff in her hands and no help, Ivonne spilled the drink. Jenna didn’t offer to help or ask if she was okay; instead she was worried about her parasol and starting spinning it over her should like a child. Recently, we are seeing less of Ivonne with Jenna.
- Jessie Mouse:
- Nita : Josh’s sugar mama. She loves to send Josh money on the stream. No, it’s not just $50, but $399.99 or $499.99 at a time. Josh has to remind her to not send SuperChats but rather PayPals because he gets to keep more of the money.
Frenemies
- Ron on the Go: While Josh wants to act like pals with Ron, he is always obsessed with what he is doing. Ron likes to track his subscriber numbers on the stream, which has led Josh to do the same.
Burned Bridges
- Victor Nawrocki (Realtor): Victor was a long-time sponsor of ResortTV1, promoting his realtor services to families who wanted to move to Central Florida. He would occasionally appear on the stream. Josh decided that he wanted to cut out the middleman and get his own real estate license, which blindsided Victor. The sponsorship ended, and Josh has now paired up with another realty team, working as their referral service.
- Maria (LBV TV): Once touted as Best Friends Forever, Maria has disappeared from RTV1's streams and Jenna's life. The pair were so close that they even came up with the nauseating term "Yoda Best" during the Baby Yoda craze. We don't know what caused the split, but Josh insists everyone's still friends but too busy to hang out, even though Maria and her husband Chris also stream from the parks. Maria also "created" a couple of RTV1's t-shirts. After the split, Jenna and Stef decided to create their own shirts that look like a blind cat with access to ClipArt designed them.
- Donna (Dinners with Donna): Donna is friends with everyone. She's a kindhearted lady who will spend her free time baking cookies or cooking on her stream to get donations for charities like Give Kids the World. But Josh's antics can even try the patience of a saint. At one time, Donna was super close to the group, but now we're left with cryptic messages about the actions of people in the Disney community. Is it related to Josh or someone else? Donna is known for streaming herself baking cookies. People make donations, and all proceeds go to GKTW. One year, she announced the date and time at least three weeks in advance. However, a week before her stream, Josh made a "surprise" charity stream for GKTW. As a result, he raked in donations from people who would have donated through her channel. Instead of being happy to give families a chance to see WDW, Josh used this charity stream to boost his ego and take away from Donna's stream. She has disappeared from the chat and all interactions with RTV1. When pressed, Josh has said, "She's busy" and can't hang out in the parks, but they remain friends.
- Spokesmayne: When Josh started streaming, he was chummy with Spokes. They were so close that one would end their stream and send viewers over to the other channel. After allegations of buying subscribers, Spokesmayne and Josh stopped talking to each other. Josh also tried to one-up Spokes' charity stream one year. When not creeping on Disney Princess CMs in the park, Spokesmayne did occasional raise funds for GKTW. For a few years, he had a 24-hour stream with different streamers to raise money for charity. Not to be outdone, Josh couldn't let Spokes have the spotlight; instead, he decided to stream in the parks on that same day and bring in SuperChat money for himself.
- Chomps and Sunshine: This couple owned a cleaning service in the NE and were big-time sponsors for RTV1. No one knew why they used their advertising dollars towards a Florida-based channel when they only serviced a small section of CT. They would even throw in a few $100+ SuperChats as well. Apparently, Chomps started to dictate to Josh about the direction of the channel, and that relationship ended.
- Window Repair Parts: Another early sponsor of the channel that disappeared. The owner’s daughter (Rachel aka DisneyPrincessCouture”) was close to Jenna, and they had the “besties” schtick going on for a while. Josh and Jenna took full advantage of this relationship, as the owner sprang for resort stays, including the Polynesian Bungalow, as gifts. This sponsor just slowly disappeared into thin air, but Rachel did make a few appearances on Spokesmayne’s streams.
Incidents with Other Guests
- Buzz Lightyear Entrance:
- Haunted Mansion Queue:
- Christmas Parade Confrontation: At the last Christmas Party of 2023, a Cast Member wanted to sprinkle some pixie dust and invited Josh and Jenna up to the top platform of the train station. This area was reserved for people who paid extra to watch the parade from an elevated spot. Instead of trying to be mindful of other guests, Josh goes right against the railing and holds up his camera, blocking the views of the paying guests. After the parade, one guest complained to security and confronted Josh. When hear the guest say, “Go away, you’re selfish!” The stream is muted for a few minutes as Jenna and Josh are escorted out of the area by security. Josh doesn’t say anything other than that the parade was “super fun.”
- Fort Wilderness :
- Millennium Falcon Single Rider: Josh was in the single rider line at Smuggler’s Run, where he was put into a queue with a family of four. The mom politely asked if he was filming, and Josh said yes. She then said they didn’t want to be filmed. He obliged and found another group. But as soon as he was alone, Josh complained on the stream that Disney is a public place and people should expect to be on camera.
Cringeworthy Moments
- Only those stans who send in $50 or more will get Josh to flip around the camera to give you a full shot of his face as he says thanks.
- During one stream, Josh met an elderly man named Robert. He was a recent cancer survivor and wanted to thank Josh for the streams. To show his appreciation, he hands $300 in cash to Josh in front of Cinderella Castle. Despite Disney’s rules against using the parks for commercial gain, Josh happily accepted the money. He was called out on Twitter for his actions, but he claims that it would have been rude to not accept the gift.
- Instead of using his personal social media accounts to complain about a service or business, Josh will bitch on ResortTV1’s Twitter. Read the Budget Rental Car Incident
- Josh went full Karen and demanded to speak to manager at Toy Story Mania. A Cast Member said he couldn’t stream because the gimbal looked like selfie stick. Instead of acting like an adult, Josh whined and made other guests wait while a supervisor headed up to the queue.
- Josh and Jenna were provided free concert ticket by SuperFan Rob Fuzz to a Maroon5 concert at Universal. They advertised the concert and had their own link for ticket purchases, but they never disclosed the free tix, breaking FCC rules in the process.
- Josh has been “gifted” resort stays on multiple occasions, including Port Orleans Riverside. While Josh has free rein in the resorts, his wife and child are notably absent.
- Josh and Jenna have been caught multiple times using another guest’s DAS pass to cut in line, like here and here.
- Whenever Josh needs SuperChats or PayPals, he will stir up drama or self/pity, and magically, the money comes rolling in, such as here
- Josh has multiple incidents of being snippy, especially when his summer vacation is coming to a close, like here
Glossary
- Ah-MAAZ-ing: A general catch-all phrase to describe anything on property.
- Bop the Like Button: A lame attempt to get more engagement for their streams.
- But It’s Okay: Whenever something irritates Josh, he will use the phrase, “But it’s okay.” Keep in mind that it’s never okay because viewers will hear him complain and whine about the incident for at least the rest of the current stream and possibly spilling into the next.
- Craaazy Bananas: A Jenna catchphrase, That’s crazy bananas
- Epic: Everything is EPIC to Josh when it’s just another boring ass stream.
- Fur Shure: For sure, but in JennaTalk.
- Liestream: Basically what Josh and Jenna do in the parks; walk around and lie while live-streaming.
- Intentional Lag: Josh is so afraid of losing viewers as he switches connections for the hundredth time that he has to remind people the stream will lag for a few seconds.
- Moppers: RTV1’s name for their moderators.
- Tranquil Tuesday: Josh’s Tuesday night stream that is promoted as a relaxing night in the parks, but it is anything but. Josh will usually use this time as his own personal therapy session about some wrong that has befallen on him. You can expect a full night of whining and complaining usually about his job or copyright claims against the channel.
- Turkey Wiggle: Stef’s healthy recipe creation that looked more like dog food than a main entree for dinner.
Other Projects
- ResortTV1 Homes: This is a joint project between Josh and Stef. They act as a referral service to a local real estate company. Stef also writes blogs for the website and will occasionally make a vlog. When most people applaud the benefits of living in Florida, Stef will tell you everything wrong with the state and why she hates it.
- RetroTech1: Josh's pet project channel where he plays around with old, dilapidated crap from the '80s. The channel struggles for views, so Josh will routinely create the premiere after the end of the live stream.
- Adventures of Jenna & Dale: Jenna also has a spin-off project with Dale. Now buckle down or you’ll miss all of the excitement. Most of these adventures involve Jenna shopping at Target or picking up a treat at Starbucks. Dale will make an appearance doing some at-home project.
