Theatre company AB Productions has announced record ticket sales since news of the pairing broke on Thursday night with audiences clearly loving the thought of the two TV favourites on stage together. And having sat with the two jovial stars for an hour this week, I can safely say audiences are in for quite a show.
Within minutes of meeting we've already covered hot flushes, bankruptcy and OnlyFans - and Kerry has even whipped out her tiny feet to show us exactly what has helped make her millions on the adult site.
Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry says: "I love the theatre, I love being on stage, I love acting, I'm not being funny we're in our 40s and we're being paid to dress up how lucky are we?" And, in a first for the production, there will also be two ADULT nights this year, where strictly no kids are allowed, giving a fully no-holds barred take on the cheeky panto jokes.
Katie, 46, says: "Fingers in your ears if you don't like crudeness", while Kerry, 44, adds: "We have no filter. It will be filthy bants in those adult shows but that's just us anyway," Katie continues: "It's normal, everyone does it, we just say what people think".
Reflecting on the joys of panto in general, Kerry says: "Covid hit everyone really hard and everyone comes together at Christmas, people need to just laugh at yourself, that's the problem with the world, everyone takes themselves so f***ing serious. Laugh at yourself. It's not about how many times you fall it's getting back up that matters."
If anyone knows that lesson, it's Kerry and Katie, who've had their fair share of highs and lows in their showbiz lives. Katie is currently in the process of her second bankruptcy - something that Kerry has been through herself too.
"Twice! We've both done it twice," says Kerry on bankruptcy. "She just keeps copying me! I got my tattoo first, then she got a tattoo; I go bankrupt, she goes bankrupt didn't she I was like 'Kate if you want to be me it's OK I understand'."
Katie retorts: "Hey if you want to be me, I've got the surgeon's numbers I keep telling you".
Ah yes, and the surgery. They're both pretty open about their procedures too, Kerry saying: "We're like etch a sketch under here," pointing at their billowing dresses.

Katie is recovering from her recent facelift, which Kerry is admiring next to her. Katie says: "I had my face pulled about four weeks ago." Kerry chipping in: "I had my eyes and nose done because of this n*b."
Katie quickly interjects to ask "But do you feel better for it?" To which Kerry says: "Well yeah I do. But now I need a facelift don't I."
Katie mentions she's annoyed when she reads in newspapers and magazines features where cosmetic doctors pore over what they think she's had done to her face and body. She says: "When I read doctors in magazines who've never even seen me saying "oo this is going happen" and I think f*** you, you don't even know what I've had done. But I bet if I went to them and said 'can you do this' they'd be like "yeah, yeah. "It's my body I'll do what I want. I'm 46, I'm not in my 20s." She adds: "I've got more implants in the f***ing safe at home than I've had in my body."
Kerry, musing our conversation so far, suddenly comes out with: "You know when we say this stuff in person it's funny, but when people read it they just don't get it, they think we're nuts."
In person though, it's clear these two women have funny bones, they spark off each other and we all agree they should both have their own TV show together.
Warrington-born Kerry is based in Prestbury these days - "very posh" I say. To which Kerry quips: "Yeah, I moved in and everyone else moved out."
Katie, who is based in the South but will be hiring a property in Cheshire for the panto run, will be joining Katie and her family for Christmas Day dinner again this year on their break from panto.

It sounds like they've slipped into old married couple behaviour whenever they get together. Katie says: "All we do is sit and watch telly together in bed. We love crime dramas." Kerry knows she'll have to get the heating on though as Katie says she's "always cold".
Although we compare notes on the perimenopause as she also admits she's started getting hot flushes at night and "I wake up and my bed is soaking wet," she says.
They did have a high profile fall out in the past though, which I bring up and Kerry explains: "She called me a druggie and I called her a Pete Burns lookalike." Katie thankfully couldn't remember this.

As for the panto, we can expect plenty of nods to Kerry and Katie's lives in the script, which has been penned by the show's producer Anton Benson alongside Ryan Greaves and Steve Moorewood who play Buttons and Dame Hardup in the show.
Katie says: "I had a carriage at one of my weddings, so it's nice to see one on stage." We can also expect two Kerry and Katie duets in the show harking on their shared background in music.
While former Atomic Kitten star Kerry no longer performs with the band, it sounds like Katie's music career is about to head on the up again. She performed at Manchester Pride in August, and confirms to the MEN that she will head out on a new music tour in 2025. Katie said: "I loved it at Manchester Pride. I'm busy all next year doing gigs. I never thought that would happen and it's a dream come true. So if you manifest, it will happen. I'll be doing hour sets, I never thought I'd be able to do it." What a load of utter bullshit!!
