Melanie Lynskey who plays adult Shauna said the next 3 episodes are insane and I'm like more insane than they are already? šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

I'm absolutely hooked on this show, it's all I can think about atm!

I think Lottie is the Antler Queen because the others will take heed of her "visions" and this will elevate her status in the group.

I watched ep 8 today, it was indeed insane. Also: Jackie is such a piece of work.

I see itā€™s been renewed for season 2 - mixed feelings about this, I hope itā€™s handled well and thereā€™s still a satisfying end to this season.

Eurgh I hate when they do that ! Probably only did a story meant for one series
 
I watched episodes 1-7 yesterday and I am hooked. The whole thing is so fucked up, I love it.

I hope they've planned for the second season....it does seem a bit extreme that they could regress from where they are in episode 7 in relative normalcy, to full on tribalism and cannibalism in only 3 episodes left.

I'm thinking he is a brother of one of the girls who maybe ends up dead later on wanting revenge, maybe the girl who can see things? Sorry can't remember her name. I also thought he could be Travis's little brother. Shauna's daughter isn't old enough to be 25 so be interesting to see what happened to the baby?

This seems to be the most popular theory from what I've read. I'm kind of hoping it's not him and that there's something more to it. Also, I know it's been a long time, but I kind of feel like Shauna might recognise Javi or that Adam would be somehow familiar to her if he is Javi? Maybe not, though.

Does anyone think Jackie is still alive and is possibly the person sending the postcards? I know we've been led to believe (in a few scenes now) that Jackie is no longer around, but I just wonder about her since it would be a good twist to have her alive - and she'd be a good character to keep around. Not sure how they'd work that out, though, when her parents seem to think she's dead. Hm. I've been reading some theories - and there is some evidence that Jackie made it home... I was sure it was Jackie who died in that first scene of episode one, but now I'm not so sure....

Mostly, I think I just want to see what big-in-the-90's actress is cast as adult Jackie. Robin Tunney seems like a pretty good fit.

I thought Christina Ricci was going to Jackie grown up but think they did that deliberately lol
 
Glad I found this thread. I am so invested in this show. I caught up on ep 8 today and am have gone back to rewatch from the start to try and find more clues as to what is going on.


I have so many questions.

Who do we think stole Shaunaā€™s diaries from the safe. Adam? Could he be paid by the journalist woman to get close to Shauna to get her diaries. Or could Jeff or their daughter have taken them? Who is Jeffā€™s other woman that heā€™s having an affair with? Is she signigicant.

How many made it out alive? We know Shauna, Natalie, Misty, Taissa and Travis did. In the ā€˜tribalā€™ scenes at the beginning, there were at least 7 or 8 people. Were there survivors we havenā€™t seen yet (Lottie, Travisā€™s brother, Coach Ben?)

Weā€™re certainly meant to believe that Jackie is dead. The girl in the pit at the beginning was wearing her heart necklace.

Did Misty rig the Teddy bear to catch fire? She smashed up the flight recorder because she doesnā€™t want them to be rescued so Iā€™m guessing she sabotaged this attempt too.

What happened to Shaunaā€™s baby?

I'm not sure Jeff is having an affair. I know it looks like he's having an affair, but I guess I'm just hoping that nothing is as it seems or just so obvious with this show. Maybe he's planning on selling Shauna's story and the woman is a journalist? Maybe the woman is Jackie's representative - and he is back in touch with Jackie? Lol! Or maybe it's all very obvious and Jeff is having an affair and Adam is Javi.

I'm looking forward to seeing what other big-in-the-90's actresses are cast in this!

We're definitely meant to believe Jackie is dead - but we know she shares that necklace around. She sees it as a good luck charm. She gave it to Shauna on the plane. Then again, maybe it is her. Maybe Jackie is dead. I hope not, though! Also, Jackie's journal lists her favourite movies/characters and Bring it On (2000) and American Beauty (1999) are listed - which would indicate that she made it out of the wilderness. Or maybe the props department messed up - or Shauna stole Jackie's journal (like she stole her boyfriend!) and kept note of movies she thought Jackie would like. I could see that happening.

I thought it looked like the Teddy Bear spontaneously combusted! Is there a supernatural element to this show? What are those strange symbols all about? Could have been Misty, of course. I would not be surprised!

I do wonder if Shauna's baby will survive. I don't have a great feeling about that.

So, in my rewatching, my latest theory is that there might be 2 groups in the wilderness and the group we see in the beginning is hunting the other group (which Jackie was a part of). So there could be other survivors we havenā€™t seen yetā€¦and if there are to be the rumoured 5 seasons, then there is lots of time for the whole story to be told. If there are 2 factions, who is in each group?

Also, I originally missed that the ā€˜journalistā€™ is actually not a journalist at all and is working for Taissa, making sure that no-one is talking about their experience. Is Adam also maybe working for Taissa to get Shaunaā€™s diaries which are the written evidence of what they did?

I donā€™t think Jeff is having an affair with the blonde woman. They didnā€™t look like a couple when we saw them together in the hotel.

FYIā€¦there is a Spotify playlist for the show with all the songs that feature in the soundtrack. As someone who was a teenager in the 90s, the music is one of my favourite things about the show.

A longshot - since I have a feeling that baby won't make it out of the wilderness alive. Jeff could be cheating - but I hope there's more to it than that. Maybe he is the blackmailer/working with the blackmailer (Jackie!)

The blonde woman with Jeff looked too old to
be have been the baby. She looked 35-40 to me. You might be on to something with him
possibly working with her in some capacity though.

I think youā€™re right and that Jackie made it out but died afterwards. This production seems too slick to make such a basic error.

Sort of back this since all of the write ups reference them forming clans, which suggests multiple.
